Just wanted to throw this out there because sometimes can be overlooked--hope they check Tyler out for Sleep Apnea. Seeing he's such a bid kid, it's not unheard of that at his age he could suffer from Apnea. Can lead to some symptoms that resemble arrhthymia's and effect energy, sleep pattern, and just wondered if this was being considered?

I guess the first step should be to track down Tyler's roommate and ask him if he's slept at all this semester.

He would be but if its so serious that he can't play this season, I would have to believe that it would mean that his career as a basketball player would be over.

I hope this doesn't come across as too callous, and I certainly hope it never comes to this, but if he is no longer able to play and we continue to keep him on scholarship (which I assume we would), would he continue to count against our maximum number of scholarships? It would seem like there should be exceptions for situations where the kid is no longer physically able to play.

I don't know the answer to that question but I hope we don't have to find out as a result of what's going on with Tyler. Best of luck to the kid. I hope, for his sake, that it's something minor and treatable. Best of luck for a speedy return.

I think he would count against the limit. In the midst of all the media coverage about football and concussions/CTE, I remember reading an article about a football player who had suffered multiple concussions and was considering giving up football. The problem was, he would lose his scholarship if he left the team, because he would still be a "counter" and the school wanted to use all its scholarships on football players. Basketball is also a "counter" sport, so I imagine the rule would be the same--if he stays on scholarship, he's a counter, if he comes off scholarship, he's not a counter. Of course, I would think/hope we'd keep the kid on scholarship regardless of his health situation.
All of this needs to come with one huge caveat though. As we saw with the Andre Drummond situation, you can come in as a counter, remain on scholarship, but not be a counter anymore.
Of course, I wouldn't put it past the NCAA to allow UConn to "discover" that one of their players was actually eligible for a full non-athletic scholarship, but insist that a kid who is physically unable to play still count against the limit.

It would seem like there should be exceptions for situations where the kid is no longer physically able to play. If Adams is unable to play anymore--he would NOT count towards 13 scholarships but would also be allowed to be kept on scholarship and have school paid for. Should make him feel even better about choosing Georgetown as he's learning early how short an athletic career could be. For his sake, hope it's just a brief delay and he can return to court and do what he enjoys doing.

Love that Tyler is usually the first one off the bench after big Hoya plays. It sure doesn't seem like his condition is zapping his energy and enthusiasm in this regard.
Hope the next round of tests go well.

As we have seen with Jeff, Tyler has to be checked out completely. Maybe something innocuous, which we hope, but also can be something serious like Jeff. Good luck and God bless to both.

Hope the next round of tests go well. Couldn't agree more CA. I love seeing that. Bowen too. There was one point where Tyler was talking to one of the guys and I swear he looked like a coach. Even without being on the floor you can see his character and enthusiasm. Exactly the type of kid that I love when we're lucky enough to find them. Here's to hoping that his health issues are completely treatable and he can resume doing what he so obviouly loves to do.
