Not to say that I am not very interested in the other newcomers too. Porter has just stepped in impressively so far.

Lubick has struggled a bit this year, and whereas I don't think he'll get pulled quiet yet from the starting lineup, it's going to get tougher and tougher to keep Porter off the floor.

I LOVE OTTO PORTER! might be the only reason to watch this team. Really? The only reason. I've had the pleasure of getting to see my hoyas on the west coast because of this tournament against Kansas and now Memphis and if their rankings are anywhere close to correct, we have a team that will absolutely scare teams late in the year. We have so much length and tenacity defensively. It's awesome! Keep watching. You might find something else you like, curmudgeon.

Otto also gets a little smirk on his face every once in a while that other team's fans are going to absolutely hate.

Otto Porter is going to be special. His skillset and length is unteachable and outstanding. If we keep him on the Hilltop for all 4 years I will be shocked. No doubt the most talented of a VERY talented freshman class at Georgetown. They will all be very valuable Hoyas but Otto is ready to heavily contribute right now. Big time get for the Hoyas and looks like he has some nice chemistry with the guys already. I will enjoy watching this team and all the youngsters this year.

It's early, enough so that Chaminade and Sav State skew the data. JTIII always experiments early before settling on a defined rotation with roles for Big East play. EDIT: Since JTIII took over, at least 3 players have averaged 30+ mpg every season except for 2007-08.

According to the box score, Porter led the team with 40 minutes today (Clark had 39). Considering he didn't get into the game in the first half until about four minutes, that means Porter pretty much played the rest of the entire game. This is great, Porter is one of our best players and deserves the playing time.

I'm loving his pull up j. He does a great job of getting a step and then squaring his body when he goes up. Next year, he should be able to do that at will. We stole a complete stud out of the middle of nowhere. I cannot be more high on him.

We did not steal a complete stud, JTIII and the recruiting staff was on Otto Porter before anyone knew about him. Major props to the staff.

Markel's minutes were a little off (and GW's a little up) b/c of Markel's foul situation. Also has Shawn Marion in mind as a comparison for Otto, if only b/c they appear to have very similar form on their jump shot.

Kirby played at the same school as Otto's Dad that's why we were in on him early.
