He was the first player that came to mind last night when I was thinking of how nice it would be to have a guy like Thomas Robinson on our team.
Long shot, but stranger things have happened.

I'd name my unborn Ricardo Kirby if this ever happened.
One of my favorites in the '12 class.

I saw this kid play at Adidas Nations over the summer and hes a perfect Gtown/Big East type player. He super athletic and would help our rebounding right away. I was Editeded when I realized he was a St Johns commit. I would love for GTown to somehow get him.

If he's from Louisiana, this could be a replay of Tyler Adams leaving Duke and ending up at GU - -with a gentle assist from Coach Kirby.

Kid is the best rebounder in the class. Would be a great addition.

from the UconnChev guy again:
UConnChev: North Carolina State is recruiting 2012 PF Ricardo Gathers hardest. Georgetown recently offered and is showing strong interest as well

Damn, NC State gonna have 30 kids on their roster! lol Exactly what I was thinking when I read allen's post. Do they have some sort of exemption from the scholarship limitation?

Wow, let's keep winning and steal this kid. Gathers is an animal.

NC State's coach went to the Calhoun and Pitino School of Basketball during the summer break.

So, not to rain on the parade, but isn't a 6'7 PF kind of the opposite of the way everyone wants to go? Or is this kid really DeJuan Blair 2.0?

Very aggressive/physical on glass. Guy who will never have to be told to hit the boards. Might be the most physical forward III's recruited.

Huge vertical for a guy his size. He'll be able to make up for the 2-3 inches with his athleticism. And he's a bull, strengthwise.
Would definitely help us down low, but not solve the C issue in 2012-2013 after Henry's departure.

sounds very exciting from everyone's feedback.. question is can he play in our system? Vernon Macklin had all the physical tools and he was a beast rebounder with raw talents in H.S.. how is this guy's skills?

Ricardo is more a Barkley type not Adrien...He can handle the ball fairly well, and is explosive off the floor...will fill the lanes on breaks and dunk on anyone.
