Mob, no. Was I outraged? Yes. See my posts on this site, same subject. Do you share a similar outrage at what happened to the poor kid in the Fine scandal? Poor kid*s* - all of them - yes. The kid, however, will get his restitution by the court system in either the civil or criminal field or both. Syracuse, thanks to all that is holy, does not provide justice. Once again, I think that Boeheim should be fired for his statements based on someone who is one of the most prevalent symbols of the university that's not rotund and orange. The fact remains, however, that the Syracuse and Penn State cases aren't identical. You can't make any argument with a straight face that Paterno didn't have secondhand allegations that someone was raping ten-year olds and yet didn't do anything for ten years. It's still possible, as of right now, to say that Boeheim didn't know. It's still an open question as to whether Boeheim having such a laissez-faire attitude towards any non-basketball behavior should be tolerated, but if Syracuse has used it as their defense when players have repeatedly attacked women, it doesn't justify an instant firing here.

"It was a rite of passage for some to be with Bernie's wife" So really Syracuse is actually a free love commune. The ACC can have the Branch Boeheimians Wow, talk about a horrifying hazing ritual! Now I'm starting to understand why we lose more recruiting battles with Syracuse than we win. What could Coach possibly offer that's more appealing than "If you come here, you get to play in front of 30,000 people every night, and you might get the chance to nail this old guy's wife."

Allred aside, they seem like they have a credible claim to defamation.

No doubt, TC. The ensuing feeding frenzy a la Allred will just make Magoo wish he had kept his trap shut.

Don't know anything about NY law on defamation, but falsely accusing someone of being a liar should be enough...If anyone deserves to have Gloria Allred on their butt, it is Boeheim after his boorish behavior in this situation. Justice prevails.

Allred is just a blood sucking so-called lawyer looking for another opportunity to exploit a situation to enhance her claim to be an advocate for the mistreated.

Hmm, now McQueary is saying that he isn't positive on what he saw "He said Sandusky was behind the boy and the boy was up against a wall. He said he believes Sandusky was sexually molesting the boy but he did not see insertion and did not hear protests. He said he believes the two were engaged in intercourse but he cannot be sure."
Also McQueary admits he didn't tell Paterno that there was anal sex or sex going on. Hmmm. "McQueary said he did not give Paterno explicit details of what he believed he'd seen, saying he wouldn't have used terms like sodomy or anal intercourse out of respect for the longtime coach. He described it as "rough positioning" of Sandusky and the boy.:

Paterno didn't ask because he didn't give a crap and because he didn't want to know.
