This is in the first article I linked:
"When we talked to Della Valle earlier in the year, he didn't mention Georgetown but he said he's in the process of learning more about them.
"I talk to the assistant coaches at Georgetown," Della Valle said. "They came to watch me play a little while ago. I don't know a lot about them but they're a good program and they are really good academically."
With interest from Gonzaga and Georgetown, it looks like Della Valle could end up on either coast - or anywhere in between. However, he said that no matter where he plays he will be happy as long as it is the right place for him. As of now we believe he is Arizona's to lose. "
Heard a rumor that Jerome ("JYD") Williams now works at Findlay, so this might explain the interest...

says in article linked we sent Assistants to watch him
he is VERY fundamentally sound, son of a Pro and already played 2nd division pro in Italy - didn't get much run given his age but he is a player.

His hairstyle suggests he will end up at Gonzaga.
The youtube video from the Europe 18 and Under championships isn't overly impressive, but it's against pretty good competition I think. He appears to be a scrappy defender. Handle looks like a work in progress - not a point guard.

Well, he was on the roster of a 2nd Division Pro team for 2 years - same league where Austin is playing now to give you an idea... I think, especially as a youngster, you can be on the team but still be considered an amateur if the team doesn't pay for anything but the expenses associated with playing basketball (travel, etc.) - I think I remember reading that Kanter was thought to have received benefits over and above the basketball expenses but I am no expert so it definitely needs to be vetted out...

Love this kid's name. The freeway exit for the Del Mar race track is Via de la Valle.

Scout article from today: "Expectedly, Della Valle’s recruitment has blown up. The Italian guard has scholarship offers from Georgetown, Gonzaga, Arizona, Utah, and Cal. Della Valle is also speaking to a few other schools, including St. Marys, Portland and more. " utah.scout.com/2/1128755.html

Facially resembles Ryan Kelly and looks like a guy who Temple signs and has play for 10 years for them.

An italian Ricky Rubio as our back-up point for next year. Sounds good to me. After watching us play with Clark & Starks at point, I am not sure Trawick will ever be a reliable fill in as primary ballhandler and that leaves, Whittington?
We need some back-up there.

It was always a pipe dream that he was going to be able to give us legit minutes at the 1. Hopefully he can turn into a combo guard. If not, I think he'll make a damn fine 2.

I like what I've seen from Jabril so far - and even for those who don't, I mean, for goodness sake, it's only 2 games.
