can we read III's activity as an indication of our chances with Troy? Or just bird in hand?
We calmly grabbed our free beers and sauntered out. To add to the fun, we made T shirts that read "thanks for the memories... of kicking your AS#!" on the back along with a picture of a hand crushing an orange which we calmly unveiled in the final few minutes so the thousands of Cuse fans sitting behind us could enjoy. May have been the perfect day.--DaymondMyles
You absolutely take him if he pops now. The kid is very underrated nationally and if he played for an upper-tier WCAC school, he'd be Top 50 nationally easy and we wouldn't even be having this conversation.

Guards taken in recent years (who are still here) 2008 -- Jason Clark (Sr. who will be leaving) 2009 -- None 2010 -- Markel Starks 2011 -- Jabril Trawick 2012 -- DSR -- and??? 2013 -- If we get him -- Josh Hart?
When I look at it like that, we are very light on Guards on this team. If JT3 believes Hart is as good as people are starting to say? Then by all means, take him.
And no, I don't think that is any indication of where we stand with Troy.

I hear you Saxa, though i would add Whitt and Bowen this year. Neither handle as much as you would like a 2 to, at least not yet. They just don't seem to play a lot of 3 thus far, especially Bowen.
But yeah, offer and take talent and the rest sorts itself out.

Hart with 37 points (3 treys) and 11 boards in 78-70 win last night in MAC opener against St. James. Didn't see it myself (just saw box in Post), but in 32 minute games that's a performance . . .
It will be very difficult to project his performance based on statistics, given the schedule Sidwell traditionally plays. While he will be very well prepared for any college he attends, the basketball competition usually includes highly academic but not very basketball-focused athletic programs. For example, Maret, Georgetown Day, St. James, the Heights, St. Andrews, even Potomac and Flint Hill (now), are small schools that often attract great students but not really any top-100 national basketball talent. At an athletic 6-4, he would play center on most of those teams. This does not mean he is not top-100, but the competition in many of his games will not be near that level. Actually, I admire his commitment to that kind of an independent school given his talent. Kind of an unusual story . . . atypical . . . like Otto or Greg in a different way.

That's why it was good to see him play this weekend against the #5 team in Chicago (who they blew out), the #21 team in the country, and the #2 3A team in Florida (who they beat by 11). His competition is pretty much the same as what Markel played against, and they were both able to shine in AAU play. If anything, he's underrated because of Sidwell's reputation.
That little backdoor cut is something we're familiar with. Some pretty serious outlet passes in that video too.
Exactly what I was thinking too.
