After attending their Midnight Madness, and receiving significant interest, 2013 recruit Josh Hart picked up an offer from the Georgetown Hoyas. Head coach John Thompson III spoke to his AAU coach Keith Stevens from Team Takeover and told him that Georgetown wanted to extend an offer to Hart.
“They like my ability to score,” Hart said. ”Besides that, my hustling and I know they definitely like my height as a guard.”
The 6-foot-3 guard possesses a nice outside jumpshot and is continuing to improve his game.
“It feels great,” Hart said about getting his first Big East offer. ”It’s just a lot of motivation to keep working on my game.”
Hart also holds offers from VCU, Penn, Penn State, Xavier, UMass, William and Mary, and NC State.
No way--TakeOver token offer. I don't like any of the TakeOver kids that were rising SR's or JR's and while they are nice kids, hard workers, etc....you need talent.
Too early in process to take a kid like Hart. Need to see what you have in your young players on roster and what is needed before taking a guy who is a role player.

If we go after another 2g at the 6'3" height before we get a pg or c, I will do pull my eyelids out. That just isnt a position of need. Lets see, Greg, DSR, Jabril, Aaron. Im sure the guy is a good guy and may even be good, but there are four guys there while there is one pg who is by no means all-world. Lets get someone there. We have signed two pgs in the past 6 years, Chris n Markel.

At his height, Smith-Rivera should be intelligent enough to realize that his future as a professional basketball player may well be dependent on his ability to play the point. I am confident that he will be honing his skills to accomplish this.

I agree that it would be nice to pull in a real PG for once, but I doubt we'll see it in this class and we're not getting Britt.
If we strike out and sign Suhm Randim Dood in this year's class, I think there are two pretty good PG prospects under the radar in the area. One is Hart's teammate Jamal Lewis, a Penn commit who had high D-1 offers, and another is Kethan Savage, Arnaud Moto's teammate at Episcopal, who has similar high D-1 offers.
Though most people see it as a negative, one of the nice advantages of the offense as constituted is that while it can accomodate a PG (Wright, for example), it doesn't need one. Neither Wallace nor Cook nor Sapp were prototypical points and all were much more combo guards.
If the player can defend point, handle a bit and shoot, we can find a place for them.
