Cut his list last night to 9: Georgetown, Maryland, Arizona, USC, Louisville, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, UNLV and Fresno State.

I just watched a bunch of interviews of this kid....very impressive, and would fit perfectly with the culture at Georgetown...really hope we stay on him.

I knew interest between the two would pick up. He's as much of a fit as any recruit because he's a legit center, can pass, has touch and is rapidly improving.

TheRecruitScoop Alex Kline on Twitter:
Georgetown has an in-home visit with Robert Upshaw, a 2012 center out of San Joaquin (CA), today. He has one with Louisville on Friday.

USC just got a commit from a 6'8" big, gavilovic. Don't know if that will impact Upshaw. Hope the in home went well...have to imagine that roy's name came up once or twice.

Why haven't we been more excited about this guy? Do we not think we have a chance. Personally I'm really hoping this is our biggest priority behind TJ Warren and D. Pollard. You can't teach 6'11 and athleticism and we've lacked a true center for a few years

Good touch and good coordination for a big guy. Doesnt seem to jump very high but he doesnt really need to. Would be a great player for us - a Roy type project that with some conditioning could be great.

I think cause he's said he'll wait til spring to sign. Also, some aren't as high on him.

I will say Arizona just because they have been killing it on the trail.

So let's be real If he's actually any good he's down to Arizona, Louisville, and Georgetown. Sounds like he'll no longer necessarily wait till the spring to decide. Which is fine and possibly good for Georgetown. The problem with bigs who sign in the spring is they're a hot commodity and we'd have pretty stiff competition. If he's going to decide earlier as the article indicates he's leaning towards it's really a 3 horse race.
I hope he's a Parks and Recreation fan and tunes in tonight to see Roy Hibbert's guest appearance. Come to Georgetown and be a star on the court and off just like Roy!
EDIT: I like our position. Kaleb Tarczewski the 20th ranked player int he country the 7'0" center is down to Arizona and Kansas. I would think that if Zona gets him that removes them mutually from the Upshaw race.

He's on Arizona's back burner at least for a few more weeks in regards to a big, their priority is Kaleb T.
HSB, I would tend to agree at about Fresno..but after Danuel House..nothing is guaranteed.

true i guess you cannot dismiss local schools so quickly anymore. With House to Houston, Dunn to providence, and Anderson almost going to seton hall.
I think he's only had in home visits so far.
