Great choice for a big man.

Oh well, seems like on the personal life side it's the best choice for him and his family. Wish him all the best. If he dominates, he'll still be in the league.

Dont begrudge a kid bc he doesnt want to be a Hoya. Our fans spend 150 pages slurping a kid and the minute he chooses another place to play, he sucks and is an idiot.
Upshaw is from there and wanted to stay close to home. If he can play, he will get to the L. PERIOD. I wish the kid success in his basketball career.

Watched him play several times last year including games against other quality bigs at New Mexico and UNLV. He rebounded reasonably well and was streaky on offense, but did not run the floor hard and appeared to drift in and out of the games. Would not consider him as highly as I did during his recruitment by the Hoyas.

Whats funny is that in his interviews he seemed very intelligent. Maybe a case of being too close to people in his neighborhood wasnt good for him, but 3 violations, I'd never consider him for a transfer. Go play NAIA.

Kicked off Fresno State and transferred to Washington. Bohlin reporting via Twitter that Upshaw has now been kicked off Washington. What a waste. Guess we should be thankful he did not come here given that track record.

Don't know why he got kicked off the Fresno St team, but seems like there have been issues from the start with this kid.

This is another example of TTS! To be fair, the staff recruited Upshaw hard and would have gladly taken him if he chose G'town instead of Fresno St. I'm not gonna say that G'town dodged a bullet either because maybe getting away from home after HS would have helped the kid out.. In the end I hope he gets the help he needs to get back on the right track...

Check all the sites he was already projected as a late 1st to early 2nd just off what he was doing this year. He was leading the NCAA in blocks coming off the bench and was at 11 PPG and 8rbs

I still think he is worth a look. Moving across the country and being with a new family can do wonders for bad habits. Would add serious depth with his 2 years of eligibility

Georgetown basketball is about more than winning games. And it is not a rehab program for wayward young men, either. I don't deny that the program has taken chances on players in the past, but don't think that needs to be repeated. This young man has had two chances, and he doesn't need Georgetown to give him a third strike. "A report by ESPN on Monday indicated that Upshaw battled drug problems while at Fresno State, and a Yahoo Sports story earlier this season noted that he spent time at the Houston-based John Lucas’ Treatment and Recovery Center after leaving Fresno."
