Women won their home opener 4-0 over American after a series of lightning delays.
2 Freshman got their first career goals: Jessica Clinton and Daphne Corboz.
Sam Baker started off the scoring by curling a Corner Kick into the net in the 3rd minute.
Alexa St. Martin also chipped in a goal for the Hoyas.

Bummer. My two favorite women college soccer teams lost this week. Portland (my son's alma mater) lost to San Diego State (who?) and the Hoyas got trounced by Stanford (very good team at #2 in the nation). Let's regroup and win the rest.

Stanford looked scary good. The Hoyas were making an alarming number of unforced errors and generally looked a bit sloppy, though some of that may have been caused by fatigue from running around trying to match Stanford's speed and quickness. Useful to see first-hand what the gold standard looks like.

7-3 (1-1). All things considered, not bad. Unfortunately, they have had a ton of injuries and have lost 3 of their defensive starters.

Women play their final game of the regular season on Friday home against Villanova at 2:30pm. It is also Senior Day.
The hoyas won their last two games over Defending National Champion ND and Depaul both on the Road.
The Hoyas currently sit in 2nd place with 21 pts.
Lousiville leads the league with 23 pts.
The Hoyas will win the league with a Win on friday and a Louisville loss.
This isn't likely as Louisville is playing a 2-6-2 Cincinnati team albeit on the road. So fingers crossed that we get some help from Cinci.
Women have an RPI of 42 which is right on the bubble for making the women's tournament. A win on Friday and a good showing in the BET should get them in.
