Just to be clear on Wallace - Thompson told him he likely wouldn't play at Georgetown, right? I remember that from an article. He came anyway because he's a baller. I don't remember it that way. JT3 said that GU did not have an available scholarship for him (all gone or one was left for Green to accept), but that he could walk-on and earn a chance to play right away. JT3 was changing everything, so all the players were starting from scratch. Since he had been recruited by JT3 for Princeton, they both knew what to expect, including playing styles.

Researching a bit... it was a little of both. Thompson still actively recruited Wallace after taking the job at Georgetown, but he did say: " "You'll never play if you come here, you know," the coach said, according to the player's accounts. "And I can't offer you a scholarship right now." It didn't matter. The player wanted to play for that coach - and that coach only. He made him feel comfortable, and besides, deep down, he knew he could play with anybody." LINK

And let's be clear: most of the prospect gurus on this board would hate if we recruited Jonathon Wallace now.
I'm not saying players like him are a high percentage play, at least when evaluated from the outside. But sometimes, the staff knows something.

Trey has gotten longer and more aggressive, while being able to finish.

Here are some more Trey Mourning highlights, that were posted on YouTube on 9/2/13
He does not look particularly athletic in these clips, but he looks like a pretty good mid-range shooter - especially for a 6'9 guy

You must mean particularly explosive...because he looks plenty athletic to me. Showed good instincts, ability to take a dribble or two facing the basket. Good touch in his jumper. His face up skills seem to come more natural than his big man skills, which leads me to believe he'll grow a lot as a player and become more versatile in college if he continues to work hard.

His movements sorta remind me of Whitt except he's clearly not in the same class of athlete. Has the potential to run the floor like Hop. If he can work on his handle and foot speed he will be able to see spot minutes at the 3 in someone's program.

Zo says he's going to Georgetown; sounds like he'll walk on.

GU needs a defensive center. When's the last time GU had a decent one? Hibbert?

Is this some sort of sick joke? We're really not going to offer a 6'9 shot-blocker that just went for 52, 22, and 10 in a game, is being recruited by Florida, and oh yeah, he's Alonzo Mourning's son?! He's a legitimate player. The fact that the Gators are recruiting him is validation enough for me. It almost feels like he's being disadvantaged for being Zo's son at this point, like we're actively avoiding the nepotism. I for one say that if you can easily land a 6'9 kid who's likely still growing, then you do it. We're not lighting the world on fire over here, and we need a future big man to protect the paint. This just doesn't make sense to me anymore, given that it doesn't seem that Trey is still a mid-major talent.
