Faust can play a combo role. And he has a ton of talent.

It never seemed like we recruited Faust that hard the first time around, so I wouldn't get too excited. Gibbs is actually more of a need for us since he's more of a pg, and we recruited his brother (before opting for Clark). But I don't remember us being mentioned much with him, so again not expecting much. I do hope they go elsewhere next year though because without them and without Williams, it'd be a rough year for that program, which would be nice to slow the momentum for the next coach.

I really, really, hope they make a bad hire. Not Anthony Grant, not Shaka Smart and definitely not Brad Stevens. Will be interesting to see how much cache their program has and who is interested. So who is the basketball equivalent of Randy Edsall?

One of the Terp fans on Faust and Gibbs reopening:
"How the hell can they be so upset about him leaving when they've never even met him?"
Priceless.

I suddenly don't hate UMCP as much. Note that I said "as much" and not "at all."

Glad to see I can go a whole two months without posting and have people notice. Did I say glad, I meant to type "terrified." Time to set up a bear trap in front of my door

Agree with the OP, the Jordan Williams thing drove a lot of this. Gary is 66 years old (by comparison, JTII was 57 when he left) -- I doubt he was enthusiastic about coaching a 10-win team at this point in his life, especially with a new AD looking over his shoulder.
Dave Dickerson maybe?

Best case scenario: They hire Mike Brey.

There will be a number of top-flight coaches who are genuinely interested. In this case, I can honestly see someone like Anthony Grant, Jamie Dixon, Sean Miller or Rick Barnes taking that job. Will be interesting to see who they get, but it's a top-flight job and unless Kevin Anderson completely blows it, they'll get someone they'll be hapy with and that means all guns ablaze with local recruits for the foreseeable future.

HUH? I cannot see Jamie Dixon, Sean Miller or Rick Barnes doing anything besides laughing in Anderson's face if he called them. Maryland is not a better job than the ones those 3 are in. Doubt maryland can offer more than texas, pitt or Arizona either.

Best case scenario: They hire Mike Brey. for them or us? us. get a good coach out of the big east and at the same time he/his staff have never been big time recruiters. They could do worse, but just saying in relation to the big names being thrown out.
