On the plane to DC I ran into a father/son that were coming on a recruiting visit to Georgetown. I'm pretty sure that the last name was Chapman, but I didn't catch the first name. Definitely a guard (maybe 6'2?), was from California and was also getting interest from UCLA & Nova.
Anyone have any idea who he might have been?

Only guard I know from CA that has consistently mentioned Georgetown is 6'2 JR from Orange Lutheran HS Gabe York. Like I said-he's class of '12. Explosive athlete and has a lot of East Coast interest--and being recruited by all Pac 10 teams. What did the kid look like? Guards Hoyas have been mentioned with lately in '11 class (or at least possibly '11) are Semaj Christon from Ohio and JC player Blake Nash.

Friday night. So guess it wasn't York. Now I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. What did he look like? Did they say if kid was a SR, JR, or underclassmen? He was African-American w/ darker skin. I didn't catch his class, though, and I couldn't tell you based on facial features. York looked enough like him facially. Problem was I didn't have much chance to talk to him/his dad and so only got the UCLA/Nova/Gtown recruiting angle and that a coach was picking him up at the airport. Honestly, I figured with those schools and the last name that I wouldn't have trouble quickly figuring out who he was, so I didn't want to bother them too much.

No problem T-Bird--and thanks for sharing/great recap. York is light skinned, so don't think it would be him although he fits description and has mentioned his interest in playing on East Coast but is priority for UCLA too. There is a JR that is getting rave reviews as a combo guard--goes about 6'3 and is a major Bruin target--but Nova isn't in his database---I'll go check and get the name again.

Tyrone Wallace is kid's name in '12 class--6'2-6'4 mentioned as his height, and from Bakersfield, CA. Think there are pictures of him on some sites-so if someone can find them/link them great--but I've gotta run now--will be back later so hopefully we can help T-Bird solve this "mystery" encounter. ;D

Wish it was York. But again, Scout.com has Gtown listed on his list of schools.

Looked at the pictures clips. Sorry--none of them really look like the kid I talked to. So, I think it's pretty obvious who is he is. Sahm Rahndum Dood

Maye this guy isn't a major recruit, but someone the staff is looking at to fill the role of backup PG. Perhaps, like Benimon, the school will announce his signing out of nowhere, and he will become the most discussed player on the board.
