He seems to be built a bit like Jordan Goodman, no? both seem perimeter-based, tall, rangy with hops.

I have to admit, I love the write-ups of the two 2011 wings we are in on. Either Otto or Whittington would be awesome, I think.
I know neither has played huge competition, but I love tall players at the 3. I love the late bloomer aspect. And something where I've seen a pattern of success is players with late growth spurts -- a guard who grows to 6'8" suddenly?
So guard skills in a SF body? That's always a good combo.

I watched him play last night in the District V game. He has all the tools but no drive.

He seemed a little slow moving in the video Bronxie saw. He would fit in well here.

I watched him play last night in the District V game. He has all the tools but no drive. Interesting because he finished with 23 and 17 in a rout. Is he just that naturally talented that he could put up those kind of numbers without much effort or is the comp he faces just that bad?

not that we'd lose a recruit we wanted to them anyway..but the Terps just picked up a 6'8 combo forward from Germany.

He play against a team with 2 college level players at best and those are D3 guys. Also he didnt have a pretty 23. He stood on the wing all night against a 6'2 bigs. Plus remember high school stats are not the most accurate. Getting those numbers are guaranteed against the team they played , (no knock on Broadneck) Wednesday. All in all, I like his game just hope he plays with more drive. He will be a steal or home in 6 months. I hope this young man becomes a steal because he has talent. He plays Monday at Oakland Mills at 7.

23 and 17 got a lot less impressive when I remembered that those were Jerelle's averages during his senior year of HS at Faquier.

a Maryland poster said Kansas has also started to call about Greg now as well. (same poster said it seems like G'Town is out in front as well)
there is a new article on UMD's 24/7 site with the head line of "I want to decide soon."
I dont have a subscription, so not sure what else is in it.

I don't have subscription but some heavy hitters are trying to get involved and Hoyas are talking to him daily--so hopefully they get their man. They need all the talent/skill they can get.

saw that he also just turned 18 this past week, so while the competition might not be strong, he's not an older 19 year old senior beating up on kids. (also if he is immature, he's a bit younger than most)
I'm on board with this kid.

Nuff said-lacking on current team from too many and he's tall/skilled. You roll dice with this type of kid and if you want to pass on a 6'9 skilled wing that Texas/Kansas are recruiting, then what do you want to take chance with?

For what it's worth (not much), ESPN has him at a 2-star 88 ranking. I'll trust the staff, but no more Bennies. Scholarships are at a premium.

Benimon never sniffed Kansas/Texas interest--unless it was him nodding off watching Wizard of Oz or Friday Night Lights. Guy might not be all world--but certainly is more coveted/talented then Benimon.

Only take him if we whiff on Otto von Porter.
