Sad day as we lost Harry’s grandfather (the first Harry in the chain) on Friday night after a long battle with Parkinson’s dementia.
Harry will be altar serving at his funeral Mass and big sister Morgan will be doing one of the readings.
As always, my kids amaze me with their strength and resilience.
Keep a thought for them on Friday which will be a tough day.

Our sincere condolences from our family to yours. I assume Harry is OK aside from his loss. He is all good. And now he has the benefit of an extra angel watching over him.

I'm very sorry for your loss. I lost my grandfather the same way. I'm glad, however, that he was able to see young Harry growing healthy and strong. Best wishes to all and may he RIP.

Just one quick note to express gratitude for my family and friends, including the fine folks on this Board.
We said goodbye to my Dad on Friday. Harry served and Morgan read.
Two dear GU friends made a long trek to pay respects and help me get through my eulogy.
While thinking about my Dad’s life, it struck me that he belonged to a wonderful group of “quiet heroes” who went to work, paid the bills, came home for dinner, taught their kids to read, ride bikes and play ball and never, ever complained.
I hope my kids feel the same way when I go.

8 years ago today, Harry received the Bone Marrow transplant that saved his life.
I still marvel at the genius of his doctors.

Elvado, I'm sure that, in some ways, it's felt every bit of 8 years to you and your family. I'm wondering where the time went. I'm very thankful and happy for Harry's continued good health and very grateful for the past 8 years of knowing that an incredibly strong young man (and his loving family) is enjoying being a kid. May the next 8 be just as normal. Love and best wishes to Harry and fam and to all of those who continue to keep him in their prayers and thoughts. HARRY SAXA!!

Harry turns 14 today.
Thank you to all the folks on this Board for your unflagging support for my son and our family.
In a neat moment last night, my wife and I were at a fundraiser for a men’s shelter. My wife was one of the honorees and speakers for the work she does for the Hospice.
One of the silent auction items was a bat signed by Andrew McCutchen. McCutchen was the first pro athlete to send Harry something when he got sick. The Pirates sent a figurine and autographed photo with a nice note. We bid on and won the bat and it now became one of his birthday gifts.
Really kind of cool.
