While it is unconscionably early, there is nothing better or happier than the bedlam of Christmas morning with happy and healthy children. Merry Christmas to all!!! Amen. ¡Feliz Navidad!

I just realized that the 6th Anniversary of this thread came and went and I just plain missed it. And that is a wonderful thing.
I missed it because our family was busy with school, soccer, and CYO basketball for both kids.
Our prayers for our son have been answered and he is living the life every parent dreams of when they first look into the eyes of their miracle.
However, no matter how busy we get, we remain thankful to the people out here who took a child's story into their hearts and became important friends to a scared family and brave child.
We fight out here about issues big and small, and I can be as irrational as any. I think that kind of defines a family; and to us you all are.

'vadi - how wonderful that Harry's life - and the lives of your family - have become so normal that the anniversary of this thread passed unnoticed by you, or by the rest of us. Harry and his everyday life as a young man give us all reason to smile, no matter what is happening in Hoya land. Keep enjoying every day - and never stop keeping us updated! I can't wait until this thread someday breaks the HoyaTalk page record. That should be right around the time he starts wearing the blue and gray on the pitch!!

Thought the Board should know that Harry began some growth hormone therapy this week to try and catch him up on some of the growth he lost during illness and treatment.
Our family knows how blessed we are that he is healthy and with us but the height issue has bothered him as he is the smallest kid in his class. Given everything he went through, the least we can do for him is try this and see if it helps.
I am assured that none of this will impact his eligibility for the Hoya soccer team in the future. Also for lic's benefit, all Growth plates are open and his bone age is young.

Luckily, we have evolved into a society where brains are valued more than brawn. Hard to convince a kid of that though. I hope Harry has not missed too much school and that he has been able to keep up. I have a son his age that also plays soccer and baseball, so I follow this thread to see how he is doing. Best wishes.

Best wishes. Thanks. Luckily he has missed virtually no school after starting kindergarten about 2 months late. He is doing fabulously well in school and is a fairly proficient right back (like his buddy Keegan) on a travel soccer team. He is also an avid, albeit less accomplished, baseball player. The size thing bothers him so by extension it bothers us.

That said, being the only kid too small to ride th gokarts alone at a birthday party with your whole class still sucks.

Over time, it worked wonders and I pray it does for your son as well.

It makes me so happy to be able to ask the questions I'm going to ask as though Harry and your family didn't go through hell.
How're things? What his favorite subject(s) in school? How's his swing looking?

How's his swing looking? Thanks for checking in tas. He is all good. Pitched two innings in his little league game yesterday. Went 1-2 with a walk. Then we raced home and he got changed for the first session of his soccer spring academy season. School-wise, he loves social studies (history) and is a bit of a Math whiz. Exciting times around here as big sister Morgan is gearing up for 8th grade graduation and the move to High School. On balance, his Mom and I are exhausted but exceedingly blessed.

Absolutely made my day with this. Great news all around! My nephew, Griffin, is getting ready for his moving up ceremony as well. I can't believe how quickly the time went. Best wishes to all for a great end to the school year and a fun-filled summer.

Great, but how does he feel about the Ewing hire and the way the process has been handled?

As the proud owner of a 1984 Hoyas jersey signed by Patrick and inscribed to him, he is quite pleased by the hire.
As one who has been through a few ups and downs, he is more results than process kind of guy...

Wonderful night on the baseball field for Harry. Did not play. Did not get a hit or make a play.
Instead, he and his teammates served as buddies to the local Little League's Challenger Division of players with special needs.
He has been the recipient of so much kindness. It was great watching him give back.

That is awesome, the Challenger program is fantastic, and for Harry and the other kids to spend that time is truly a blessing for all involved.
