I wish you and your son the best, and hope that he comes through with many Hoya games ahead of him.

We will be praying for your son's recovery and for strength for your whole family.
If you're keeping any sort of carepage/caringbridge page to update friends/family, definitely drop a link in here. I'm sure many of us would like to stay updated to focus our prayers.

Elvado, I went through this with my daughter 13 years ago. Devastated at the time. With some incredible doctors and an equally incredible number of prayers, she is well today. Have faith he will recover and pray like you've never done before. My Mass and Communion tomorrow will be for your son and your family.

Very sorry to hear the news... I will definitely be praying for your family and your son. Without knowing any details about the situation, this may or may not be relevant but one thing that EVERYONE can do right now is register as a bone marrow donor:www.marrow.org/index.html?src=tabhomeNot enough people do this and it can save lives if a transplant is necessary for treatment and a match is found.

As a cancer survivor myself, I truly empathize. Here's hoping for the best.

I was actually going to look this up today. Thanks for doing the work for me. I may be mixing up my facts slightly here, but if I recall correctly, there was a Georgetown Law student who needed a transplant a few years ago, and they did a registration drive. Sure enough they found a match, I'm 99% sure within the GULC community. It seems like a pretty simple procedure. No real reason not to do it.

Tonight, I happen to have 100 or so people from our synangoge coming to my house to commemorate the end of a month long mourning period for the passing of my father. We in Los Angeles will make a special prayer for your son and your family in Philadelphia.

This is awful, awful news. My seven year old's second grade class will be performing a Shabbat service Friday night and hosting a Shabbat dinner. So your family and your son will be getting more than one set of prayers in LA area synagogues over the next few days.
