KenPom Last Season: Tulane #136 > Georgetown #192. Mid-major or not, perhaps an upgrade. I have a lot of respect for Rowan and I am sure that he made a considered decision. I hope he rocks it at Tulane.

I was hoping- if he went mid major- it would be Vermont. Beckers player development ( esp D ) is up there with Jay Wright.

Jeez, this is dreary. To say the transfer portal has been a disappointment ignores that we brought in two A level transfers in Mack and Peavey, as well as an interesting pick up in Williams. If we had brought in Omoruyi people would be getting frothy making (way too early) predictions about returning to the top-25. No doubt its disappointing that the transfer portal has not (yet) provided us with a solid defensive C/PF. Cooley missed on a few big names who each chose big state schools--all which likely had as much or more NIL at their disposal than Georgetown. Even if the rumors of GU having a 4-5 million NIL pot are true--you really don't think the Alabamas and Arizonas and UNCs of the world don't have supporters who will find at least that much should they have a shot at top level talent? Rumor of Omoruyi turning down $2m from UNC (and Omoruyi didn't even choose them!) means Georgetown at best isn't alone in the pool of big NIL purses. There is still time, and hopefully Cooley is able to find one or two more guys who will address the need for rim protection and interior defensive presence. Don't know much about the former Kentucky guy who was supposedly on campus, but its clear they are working hard to figure this out. Let's wait for the dust to settle a bit maybe? What evidence do you have that the $2M rumor was from UNC and not Georgetown? Seems a lot more likely that Georgetown was desprate enough to offer that much, not UNC. Also, it's pretty obvious you don't know much about Jordan Burks, the former UK player who was rumored (by an unreliable Tweeter) to have visited Georgetown. He's a 6'8", 202 pound small forward, not somebody "who will address the need for rim protection and interior defensive presence". He'd be the 4th guy on the team with the exact same build as Peavy, McKenna and Williams. Not sure why we would be going after him unless we're just planning to stockpile athletes with similar playing styles. ukathletics.com/sports/mbball/roster/player/burks-jordan/

Noem burnishing her credentials to be Vice Grifter demonstrating her capacity to shamelessly lie, then double down when asked about the lies. Perfect for the MAGA GOP. Kristi Noem’s increasingly bizarre Kim Jong Un story To recap: Not only has Noem faced bipartisan backlash for her story about her young dog Cricket, but other anecdotes in the book have also been called into question in recent days. There’s the meeting with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un that seems unlikely to have happened. And there is the meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron she says she canceled, and the threatening conversation with former United Nations ambassador Nikki Haley she says she recalled. (Representatives for Macron and Haley have rejected her accounts.) www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/05/06/kristi-noems-increasingly-bizarre-kim-jong-un-story/About the Jong Un meeting: “This anecdote shouldn’t have been in the book. And as soon as it was brought to my attention, I made sure that that was adjusted.” As soon as it was brought to her attention? She’s the narrator of the audiobook version! Morning Jolt

With Stewart I don't know if it was money. His dad seemed pretty set on him going to Ohio St. Like Andy Clark's dad in The Breakfast Club?

Ugonna Onenyso - do we have any chance to get him? He's not the upperclassman people hope for, but he is 7' tall with a 7.5' wingspan. Described as "has game-changing size and length, but also terrific defensive instincts. He was one of the most dominant shot-blockers in all of prep school basketball last year, after arriving at Putnam Science Academy for the second semester. While his defense is currently ahead of his offense, he has a soft natural touch to develop and is also both a lob threat and a rim-runner who changes ends particularly well for a player his size." (247 Sports)
Left Kentucky - in the portal. What do you think -- any chance?

Looks to me like we’re probably going to have another horrible season this year, something with under 5 BE wins. Really disappointing for the 15 fans we have left. Being swept by UCONN, Marquette and Creighton leaves 14 remaining games. Going 5-9 the rest of the way wouldn't be horrible I guess.
