It's been Duke vs. MSU for quite some time.

MSU buddy of mine is crushed. His tweet, "ESPN ruins everything."

Another media enhanced player hitting Tobacco Road - I'll enjoy hearing the excuses as each month passes.

Biancardi was asked who Jabari reminds him of on Outside the Lines today. He said Otto.

Check out this quote from Jabari following his announcement:
"To tell you the truth, that was probably the worst on-campus visit I had," Parker said. "It was just because I didn't do what I wanted to do, which was be a kid. But I know being at college is all business, and that's what they wanted to show me. I know I didn't have a good time, but they just wanted to tell me and prepare for me and give me a little bit of taste how it is going to be in college."
Perhaps the first member ever of the I hated my visit but chose the school anyway camp?

That quote from Jabari tells you just how random and frustrating recruiting is. Izzo spent 3 years recruiting him, went to more games than his dad did, recruited a lot of his teammates and friends and all reports were that Parker loved Izzo and had the best visits to MSU AND had the best closing pitch. Coach K recruits him for a year and a half and hosts the worst visit and wins out.

It's amazing how grown folk get so personally involved in young people's choice of schools to attend..... I desire that they consider Georgetown, but I am just as excited that they are continuing their education.

Entire recruitment has been weird--from the parents wanting to "shut down the attention" and then going on the Calhoun "Bubble Boy" Tour of doing an interview/article every half hour, to the dad being upset his son was replaced by Andrew Wiggins as the #1 player in country, to the Parents doing updates all the time--and making odd statements, to Jabari's quote above.

Wow, St. Nashvillehoya, you are truly a good human if you are personally excited to see some random 17 year old choosing to go to college to play basketball for a year or two. I genuflect in your general direction. ;D

This explains why most Duke players and coaches (and alums for that matter ) walk around with that sour, "it's my time of the month" look on their faces. They hate the place.

But they still go...hmmm. Let's you know that it's not really about school and hasn't been for a while.
