Can't blame Kentucky there. If he's going to slow-play everyone recruiting him, then he can only expect to be recruited over. If they have a place for him in the spring, I'm sure they'll remain right in the mix.
Not expecting to get him, though beating Alabama in December probably couldn't hurt.

It appears Pollard is down to 5. "According to Devonta, he has five schools that he is the most interested in. "I'm looking at Mizzou, Mississippi State, Alabama, Georgetown and Texas,"said the youngster. "Those are the schools that are on me the hardest." mississippistate.scout.com/2/1129184.htmlIn my eyes, every school on that list is a threat so we'll just have to let it play out. Glad that he's not listing Kentucky (at the moment).

With Mi$$ $tate and Texa$ on his list, a quality education, cultural diversity, greater employment contacts post graduation, and the opportunity to play in the summer with present and past NBA greats that a commitment to Georgetown would offer, may not be enough for the Hoyas to get this kid.

I actually find this development very encouraging. Georgetown stands out against the other 4 schools as a unique option for Devonta (only Big East school, only private school, only parochial school, only smallish scool, etc.). If he wants a little something different from big state school hoops, than we are his only choice. Also glad Kentucky is not on this list because after seeing them last night, I was reminded that he fits into their recruiting strategy darn near perfectly.

Our chances of landing Pollard are very slim. Less than 10%. It's all about the 2013 class now

Hoyas in chase mode--but love that Kirby/III have been relentless with Pollard. Kirby basically has stalked Pollard (in a recruiting sense) and would it not be very Hoya like to sign a Dvuantes and Devonta in same class?

From Rivals: With elite schools across the country recruiting him, Pollard indicated that distance would not be a factor in his recruitment. He's looking forward to watching two of his finalists play when Alabama hosts Georgetown next month at Coleman Coliseum. "I can kill two birds with one stone, and I can see how both teams play," he said. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1295131

Do we have a legitimate shot at this guy? The reason I ask is the schools are this guys list are all top notch college bball schools. Does anyone know where we are positioned?

I think that seeing a bunch of versatile 6'6"-6'9" guys playing all over the court with this seasons team will boost the Hoyas recruiting profile with a kid like this. The most skilled kids in the country for the past 10 years coming out of high school have been big time swing /combo forwards. The hoyas never really get kids like that because of the rich big man tradition. Maybe the kids we have now will change that perception.

this season will be crucial and prove to be successful when these recruits see how long, athletic and fun this group of Hoyas is. No bigs really left in 2012. Bolden takes Henry's spot, DSR is JC's replacement and Pollard/White would be Hollis's. Meeks, Troy, Jordan and Noel should be priority in '13. At least two of the four.
