Texas just picked up another big in Prince Ibeh. Might help Hoyas cause if Kentucky decides they don't want/need Pollard.

I'm not a guru, but...really doubt it.
Upshaw is very possible, however. Warren more of a longshot, but still in the running.

Texas has been mentioned a lot lately, and UK still.
Seems that we've faded, likely due to distance. But being a spring guy, we probably can bet that Kirby doesn't give up.

why do people think we are getting Gene Upshaw? What is the scuttlebutt on the streets about him? I'm not a guru, but...really doubt it. Upshaw is very possible, however. Warren more of a longshot, but still in the running.

Warren more of a longshot, but still in the running. I'm confident because 1) we're in the final 4 for him 2) Kansas St. is close to landing a different 7' kid which would eliminate them 3) I can't see him picking Fresno state if one of the other 3 want him 4) Louisville doesn't currently have any scholarships open for next year so probably want him to wait till the spring while he's leaning on signing early. 5) we have the best tradition of producing post players.

From Jerry Meyer on Georgetown recruiting:
"Then there is Devonta Pollard. Georgetown had been considered one of Pollard's top schools and according to Pollard's travel team coach Jeff Andrews of the Southern Phenoms, Georgetown is still very much in the hunt for the top 10 prospect. Kentucky and Texas, however, are coming on strong and have the most momentum in Pollard's recruitment.
Regardless, there will not be a decision any time soon from Pollard. He is playing football and there are no plans for any visits until after the football season."

Nice report. The kid has always looked like a Kentucky player to me. But he would be an awesome addition to the Hoyas.
He's probably the best pure athlete left on the board.

Going to be a long one. twitter.com/#!/BobGibbonshoops/status/128495452353069056 "2012 No. 20 rated 6-8 WF Devonta Pollard, DeKalb, MS, told me last night that he will not sign until April. He has not yet taken any visits." This could be good for Georgetown as Kentucky could have multiple 5 star wing commits by April.

He's always said he's signing in April. Who knows what our scholarship situation will be by then! Will there be early departures to the NBA or to transfer? Kirby et al. will stay tuned.

If we don't get Warren (and I'm still not holding my breath), this could play in our favor. Nothing wrong with waiting.

Was in attendance at Alabama's last game. Guess he is starting to focus on his recruitment more.
Have read that Kentucky is slow-playing him a bit as they focus on other targets (i.e., Shabazz Muhammad, Anthony Bennett).
