Great story and seems like an outstanding person, from great family. Type of kid to pull for no matter where he goes--a lot like Ochefu--who was/is impressive as well. Hope Hoyas fare better in recruiting Devonta then Daniel but if not, still going to pull for him.

If Devonta ends up a Hoya, I am sure we'd all be fine with Miss Pollard making substitutions.

In terms of talent he is the best player we are recruiting.

LOL---I watched John Carroll of the NE Playaz light into Kaleb Tarczweski in front of all of the coaches other day so intense and profane that an official gave him a technical foul for language despite fact he was talking to his OWN player. Let's just say the words I can repeat were "baby", "soft", "scared", "pathetic", and "embarrassing".
Thing is--kid took it and played harder. He was coachable and in today's era where players think you are "disrespecting them" if you are critical it was refreshing to see him light into his players and not care who was there or not.

In terms of talent he is the best player we are recruiting. Ehhh, I'd be inclined to disagree. I think Drummond is definitely more talented. Kyle may be as well.

In terms of talent he is the best player we are recruiting. I think Noel as an incoming junior is likely more talented already.

Was speaking class of 2012.....and if you think Anderson is more talented than this kid you are mad at best. Pollard's upside is crazy.

For everyone who wants us to improve our athleticism, this kid has to be the best athlete in the class.
The idea of a lineup with Pollard, Anderson, and Porter...oh man.

That's interesting you bring up the subject of athleticism and then list that potential threesome because athletically speaking I don't think Anderson and Porter are as athletically gifted/explosive as Trawick, Whittington and Hopkins. Skill-wise though they appear to be off the charts.

Agreed, I just think that those three would really complement each other as ball players.

Love how he is described in the video as most versatile player in the country. Seems like most of the players Gtown is recruiting are getting that description (Kyle definately). Also loved how he kept the blocks inbounds.

Robert Kirby did a wonderful job in July with Devonta--including being the last coach in gym to watch last game of evaluation period--he was shadowing this kid everywhere and attended some games that he knew Devonta couldn't play in due to an eye injury. III and Kirby have made him a priority recruit--so I'm not going to dismiss this one as a Kentucky lock.

RDF - agree - I just think the kid looks like a Wildcat the way he plays. I hope we can hang with the big boys for Devonta. He is a treasure recruit.

With what I've heard about his mother, I'm not so sure Kentucky is the landing spot for a kid like this. I tend to think it gives us a better shot when parents are very involved like that, whether its because of the Georgetown education, III, or maybe the history of the program.

You also have to realize his mom was an assistant coach on the Southern Phenoms--she wasn't coming out of the stands in the now infamous video of her pulling her son out of the game.
Devonta could end up anywhere with schools on his list right now but Georgetown has worked as hard on him as any prospect you can name this Summer.
