espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/recruiting/player/_/id/124497/romelo-trimbleFreshman at Bishop O'Connell and a DC Assault kid. He is an absolute stud. I have been to two O'Connell games this year and saw him drop 21 in both games. I don't know if he is a "true" freshman because he just seems too good to be a 14/15 year old kid. He already has a solid build and could easily pass for a High School Senior. I have seen Jason Clark, Kendall Marshall, and Marcus Ginyard all come thru O'Connell and Trimble is by far the most advanced I have seen for a Freshman, and it isn't even close. I am guessing he is going to be a top 10 recruit for his class. He plays good defense, makes his FTs, and plays with a high basketball IQ.

D.C. Assault coach Damon Handon confirmed the offer to Inside Maryland Sports. The Terps join Notre Dame, Rutgers, Cincinnati, Massachusetts, Miami (FL), UNLV, Villanova, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, Xavier and George Mason in school to have offer the 6-foot-2, 190-pound guard from Arlington, Va. Dalonte Hill has been Trimble’s primary recruiter. But he’s also in contact with Georgetown’s head coach John Thompson III. www.terrapins101.com/2012/08/21/maryland-roundup-devin-burns-returns-to-quarterback-romelo-trimble-receives-an-offer-if-the-school-needs-new-traditions/

He's pretty good. Has never really stood out to me though. The WCAC is full of good guards.

I don't mean to generalize, but I'll generalize: Think WCAC guard, and think PG county public school guard. It's just a different brand of player. Not necessarily different levels talent wise, but just different.

I haven’t seen much of Trimble, but Wiley looks excellent. i get the feeling he is a bit underrated at this point as most of the “experts” are rating Booth as the better prospect. i personally don’t see it..

I guess on the plus side may help with our other local guard prospects with MD stocked up?

I guess on the plus side may help with our other local guard prospects with MD stocked up? Not necessarily. Turgeon wants to take one more guard in the 2014 class. Wiley/Booth or 5-Star prospect Rashad Vaughn (from Minnesota).

How did Georgetown let this kid get away? He is going to be the best shooter in college basketball in 2 years. If the coaches had Tre Campbell rated over Trimble, then that should be a very serious cause for concern. Did they even offer Trimble? I can't find anywhere online that says they did. This one is going to come back to haunt the hoyas in a year or two. www.slamonline.com/online/college-hs/high-school/2013/07/dc-assault-full-assault/

Sounds like we recruited him and he simply chose to go elsewhere. It happens. Looking at your past posts, you seem to have some kind of vendetta against Tre Campbell, btw.

Thanks, guru, don't be afraid to call it as you see it. We can't get everybody, nor are we the perfect fit for everybody. There are so many variables as to why a player ends up at one school or the other that it is silly to fault the coaching staff for "the one that got away."
