I don't think you have to worry about Hollis Thompson leaving early. What games are people watching when they think Hollis Thompson will play in the NBA. Small forwards with suspect ball handling skills are not nba material. I really love the chart. Agree. There is nobody on our current roster who is leaving early for the NBA. I actually think we have a better chance of landing Anderson than Porter (even though he is the more heralded recruit).

Jelan K would certainly fill that SF role that several have mentioned. Apparently, we are still in the mix for him.

My theory was with Ochefu in mind. I can't see Hoyas passing up a skilled 5 that seemingly is a fit and seemingly wants to be a Hoya and that is a top 15 kid.

Great chart and thread.
SirSaxa: easiest to leave this thread on its own and SFHoya can update the original post/chart when needed. It will get enough activity to stay on the first page; if not, we can always pin it there.

I tried to send it to you, but the P.O. told me I'd be arrested for sending material through the US Postal System that would be "Banned in Boston"!

Happy holidays to you both.

Ochefu in my mind needs to be our top priority. With Drummond looking like he could easily end up at a BE school, Coleman being a Syracuse lean, and Pitt getting Birch ...I think we have to focus on getting a skilled big like Ochefu. BE schools are loading up on bigs and its important we keep pace. Throw Kyle Anderson into the mix and call it a day.

A backup PG from Marquette is transferring, and that's more or less not news, but it kicked up some discussion that I thought was interesting and played into our conversation here about planning for depth.
One guy on the Marquette board did a BE study for three years, and the NABC did a more official study across college basketball and found this:
40% of all commits will transfer from their school by the end of their sophomore year. I think they really mean, before the start of their junior year, but whatever.
40%! Georgetown is not alone, I see. But it also makes it really tough to manage. The average class four players -- one to two of those will be gone soon. Granted, many of them are the losers in the PT battle, but crazy!
Either way, it's worth noting that on average, between our frosh (Bowen, Lubick, Moses, Markel) and soph (Hollis, Benimon, Sanford) classes a school would likely lose three of those players before the players' sophomore year.
Now I don't expect that. Lots of opportunity, seem like real Georgetown guys, so I don't expect any. But average attrition is really high.

Kid is just a third of the way through his second year and the fifth scoring option on his team (while playing out of position). Let's not be so quick to make these judgments. I don't see him as an early entry guy right now, but I fully expect Hollis to make a major leap next season, if not by the end of this season. You can see the confidence growing.

Mid-way through his second year and a half... Second year of playing, and the season is only a third of the way over (assuming a nice post season run), but whatever. Point is, he is still physically immature and is nowhere near his ceiling yet.
