Just caught one of the new Sherlock Holmes on Mastepiece Mystery. Fun, and will likely make the rotation. SF, that was good. Interesting interpretation, but consistent with the character.

I have to say, I really enjoyed Community's Christmas episode last night. Also, I have to say that I really want a Christmas pterodactyl

Yeah, I'm going to go ahead and call this one right now:
The Onion Sportsdome on Comedy Central will be nigh unwatchable and not even close to funny.
I'm sick of it already and it hasn't even aired yet.
(I think the Onion News Network on IFC has potential though.)

I know it's considered stupid to like the Sports Guy, but he's a funny writer. His podcasts aren't funny. Stylistically, they don't translate.

So, is the joke of Funny or Die's HBO show that it isn't funny at all? Is this like one big thing where all these funny people are laughing that they can sell this crap?

Whatever happened to the Norm McDonald show that Comedy Central was working on this fall? I think it is supposed to be like the Daily Show / Colbert type format but focusing on sports.

So, what does everyone think of "Lights Out"?
Has anyone seen it yet?
I haven't really made up my mind yet. I think it is very well acted, so I've enjoyed the two episodes I've seen.
On the other hand, I'm just not sure if another story about a down and out fighter who used to be on top can really hold my attention for an extended period of time. Hasn't this been done to death in the movies?
For now though, I'll keep watching. Mainly because Holt McCalleny is a pretty compelling lead.
Now Bob's Burgers? That show I love. I think it's got some potential. Loren Bouchard is outstanding. Home Movies is still one of my favorites of all time. And Lucy, Daughter of the Devil was very underrated. I hoped that show would last a little longer than it did.
(For those who don't watch Adult Swim, you might know Loren Bouchard as one of the main guys and writers behind Dr. Katz on Comedy Central.)
Wait. Who am I kidding? Anyone who is reading and posting on this thread is going to be at least an occasional Adult Swim watcher.
Anyway, love the show so far.

Not sure, but the GQ piece on AJ Daluerio mentioned he was out in LA last fall to help work on the pilot (seems like Drew Magary was on that trip too). Maybe in the works for later this year if it gets picked up? Sad to see that The Good Guys was canceled. Not a home run, but I thought it was a quirky enough show to keep my attention. Good show to transfer from TiVo to the iPad for travel. Memphis Beat falls into the same category for me. Also, good soundtracks for each show. Can't wait for Justified to return. Any Big Love fans out there? The senator resigning for DUI storyline in the season premiere was ripped straight from the headlines here in Utah.

I can't wait for Justified to return either.
I'm also excited for Community and I plan on picking up Parks & Rec as well tomorrow. Can any regular watchers fill me in on whether I'm going to have major problems jumping in now?
Other shows I'm watching right now are Top Chef, Supernatural and How I Met Your Mother.
RE: HIMYM--I've really liked the last two episodes, even though some of the really slapstick-y stuff didn't work all that well. I think that the key is going to be moving forward with a lot of the story lines (the pregnancy issues draggggggggggggggggggged) instead of trying to string them along. So, I like that Barney is apparently going to be resolving one of his big plot lines. Of course, I want them to not move on from the big event in Marshall's life too quickly, something they've shown they're willing to do w/ big event previously.

And I've been a devoted Big Love fan from Episode 1. Currently watching: Big Love, American Pickers, Top Chef, the NBC Thursday night shows and yes, Jersey Shore

Go ahead and jump right in to Parks & Rec, then go back and watch Season 2 when you get a chance, because it is gold and nothing really gets "spoiled" by knowing what will happen in the future. For some background/clues on what you are getting into this season, check out Alan Sepinwall's preview: www.hitfix.com/blogs/whats-alan-watching/posts/review-nbcs-parks-and-recreation-returns-strong-for-season-3

Not a current show, but anyone read this piece on the end of The Sopranos? masterofsopranos.wordpress.com/the-sopranos-definitive-explanation-of-the-end/1. Brings me back my days of deconstructing literature in my English classes at Georgetown. 2. Somehow I think an equally persuasive argument could be made for why Tony didn't die. 3. How much free time does this guy have? The length is truly Ambassador-esque.

Yep, kc - though it is an entirely valid interpretation, the writer annoys the hell out of me. His proof is basically massive assumptions about number of shots, etc., which really can be interpreted many ways.
I actually agree with him. Funny thing is, I think the "paranoid" interpretation is more interesting.

Anyone else watch the first episode of Camelot?
I thought it was pretty good. It's about to get overshadowed completely by HBO of course, but I think I'll keep watching.
Note to Starz: One way to make sure I keep watching? More scenes with Vesper Lynd naked! ;D

Welcome back, Sterling Archer and Raylan Givens. (and welcome to Harlan, Ky., Daniel Faraday) Just watched last week's episode. What a great series. Shooting the critter in the bag (Charlie?). Awesome. Can't wait to see Harlan County blow up - literally and figuratively.

Poor Charlie the Badger.
Best scene easily was the batting cage one followed by Raylan in his room stressed out about Art knowing.
I've thought about it quite a bit and the political philosophies espoused at the town meeting were pretty much all the opposite of what I would have expected out of each character - pro-Union Raylan, corporate defender Boyd, and environmentalist Mags Bennett?
As scary as Mags Bennett is, Jere Burns' character is just absolutely the creepiest and I can't wait for the Dixie Mafia to get involved.

If Goggins, Olyphant, Martindale, and maybe even the kid playing Loretta don't get nominated for awards, something is wrong. Easily the best show airing on TV right now.
