Monday, September 27th
David continues to look better. He is much more upbeat and is walking often so that he can regain his strength.
I hope that he will continue to improve and that he will be able to go home in the near future.
Michael

Hopefully our coaches have found a way to get him some game films to watch on a computer or VCR.

Friday, October 1
David's finally home. Thanks for all the concern and prayers that have helped support him and his father and sisters through this terrible ordeal. Davis is still recovering and regaining his strength after 6 weeks in the hospital.
Again, we all appreciate the love and support.

Dear loved ones,
Thank you so much for all of the support and love you have shared with my family and me during my illness and well before I ever became sick. After 7 weeks, I was discharged yesterday from the hospital and I am so happy to be home in Raleigh where I'll be recovering for the next several months. Your prayers gave me strength, you messages gave me encouragement, and knowing that I'd see you once I recovered kept me determined to keep fighting. I can't wait to give and get hugs from you all.
Love,
David

Please continue to keep David in your prayers. In Decemebr a diagnosis was finally made for the cause of his illness. David is battling an extremely rare lymphoproliferative disorder. David and his Dad are currently in Arkansas where he is receiving treatment. Praying that he responds!! You can continue to get updates on Caring Bridge. Praying for David and his family!

Dear loved ones, Thank you so much again for all of the support and love you have shared with my family and I over the last six months. I wanted to let you know that I have recovered from my most recent 7-week bout in the hospital, I'm back home, and I'm feeling much better. I had the best welcome home gift: I got to see my second niece, Ava Grace, who was born 2 weeks ago!
This episode required a very strong, 7-agent chemotherapy regimen to put it into remission. Fortunately, I was in Arkansas where the leading expert for my disease could treat me. I got through it, because I had my dad by my side the entire time, I had loved ones visiting me, and I knew that I had so many of you praying for me. I am currently receiving chemotherapy 2-3 times a week and an experimental drug every three weeks to keep my disease in remission. This treatment plan seems to be working very well, as I am feeling better than I have in the last 6 months.
Again, I am recovering at home in Raleigh and looking forward to getting back to my normal life with all of you. Thank you so much for all of your thoughts and prayers. I am so grateful for all of the love and support that my family and I have received!
I'm STILL looking forward to giving and receiving hugs from you all!
Love,
Dave

To say that David is a special guy is not enough. There have been and are many special people who have attended Georgetown and played football. But few if any had to endure the harships that he did and then respond as he has. AMF is an amazing accomplishment and David is an equally amazing young man. My son is better for knowing and having played with David. And by extension, the rest of our family including this writer are equally fortunate to know him. Get well fast, David. There are many more people who need to get to know you.

He's been in remission for about a year now and the treatment he's been on for Castlemann's Disease has been working very well. He's back at UPenn Med school and kicking butt again.

Keep Dave in your prayers. He's relapsed and is currently going through a grueling series of chemo treatments. Time to kick the crap outta cancer again!

Of course we do not wish this on anyone, but somehow it seems so much worse when someone like David has to fight this disease. I met him just prior to his junior year at Georgetown and I was immediately taken with his character, intellect and demeanor. As I learned more about him and his extraordinary charity work, I became an unabashed fan.
Get well soon, David. You are very important to so many people--and a great number of them do not even know you.

Not good news, especially at a time when some people close to me are undergoing their health problems. But, of course, David is in my prayers. David has shown us he is a fighter, so, yes, kick the crap out of that cancer again!

I'm sure that I speak for all Lafayette fans, as well as all of us in the Patriot League community. I pray that David has the strength and the peace to get though his struggle with cancer, and the serenity to face all of the challenges facing him.
In other words, Mr. Fajgenbaum, kick some ass so we can see you out on the field once again!
