I think ESPN doesn't want us back because we don't scrimmage. Can anyone tell me why is that?

ESPN or no ESPN, it's amazing how far we've come in the last decade. I still remember the "Midinght" Madness shirts from my junior year . . .

Anybody else still have that Midnight Madness shirt that glows in the dark? I think it was from Sweetney's freshmen year.

These "scrimmages" are just like HS All Star games--so it serves no purpose. Coaches have real practices the following day--so it's a Meet N Greet and what's wrong with that?
I'd say ESPN coming 3 years in a row was great exposure--and you want to show different places--no big deal.

What's the story with Wale? Is he coming? We need to make a splash this year...If I recall correctly, last year's Midnight Madness was kind of ty and look at our recruiting class. Let's fill up McDonough this year at least...is Hoya Blue doing anything to promote this event? There doesn't seem to be nearly as much buzz this year.

The athletic department facebook event has over 1,000 people who say they're attending. I'm not on campus, but I'm sure there's plenty of buzz. There are just less current students on the board then in years past. I hope Hoya Blue has kept up the tradition of putting the count down up in red square.
I think the Athletic department is trying to keep the whole performer thing under wraps so random locals don't show up to try and get in who are just fans of said artist and not there for Georgetown Basketball. It's supposed to be a student event, so they don't want random people from all over the DMV trying to get in to see a free concert.

by the way, I don't know if people are aware of this already and I am alone here in the dark, but the Georgetown Athletics facebook page has a 16 minute video of Hoyas highlights from last season. Its pretty amazing for anyone that is interested.

I hope you all have a wale of a good time. Thanks for pointing out that it will be on the Internet, Dan. I will have the speakers on mute during the entertainment part.
