That 7 + minute Pats drive in the 4th quarter, down 10, included some of the worst play calling I think I have ever seen. Especially surprising from Belicheck the genius and the greatest QB to ever play the game. Nance I think referred to the drive a few times as disciplined, which I guess is one way to spin it. If I was a Pats fan I think I would have died during that horrific drive. By the way, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Bill "Genius" Belichick has won so much as a playoff game since the NY Giants opened a can of Whoop-Ass on the previously undefeated "greatest team of all time" in Superbowl LXIV! You know what they are asking in Boston today? "When do pitchers and catchers report?"

I don't understand why so many people seem bothered by the Jets talking "trash" or whatever you want to call it.
If they had talked and lost they would be getting killed by everybody but they didn't. They backed it up.
I read something where Deion Branch was upset at the way some of the Jets celebrated the win. There's one way to make sure that the other team's celebration doesn't upset you. It's called beating them.
Did the Jets cry when the Pats were still throwing the ball around up in the 4th Quarter 31-3 en route to a 45-3 win? I don't remember them doing if if they did.
Some people might say the Pats were classless by running up the score. I wouldn't. I would say that if they Jets didn't like them scoring they only have themselves to blame for not stopping them.

the jets are way too over the top. it's like an act now. they take on the persona of that goof head coach and it takes away from what was a great performance. just Shut up and play.

I thought they were just pandering to their fanbase. Sanchez is the Situation; Rex Ryan is Snooki. All drama, all the time.

Along those lines, I can root for the Jets next weekend (they are playing Satan's team, after all), but I'm pretty sure I will require delousing afterwards. If they want to give #7 the full Daniel Tosh treatment, so be it. Oh, and pretty good backflip by Braylon Edwards. If he was equally skilled at - you know - catching the ball, he'd be the next Jerry Rice.

We've become a nation of wusses if players can't talk trash in the NFL without catching heat.

To piggyback on what Ambassador is saying--I thought Jets-Pats was a physical but clean game---and for all the talk during the week, Goodell once again overreacted to something that didn't prove to be worth mentioning. He's so sensitive about everything to "protect the shield" of the NFL but he's ignoring the fact the owners/players are likely to do to more damage to the shield this offseason then anyone saying something about other team's coach/players.
I tune into NFL games to see Hines Ward/Ed Reed knocking heads and playing physical football. Saw respect from both teams after the game in terms of what they said--and yes I know about Bart Scott's comments and Deion Branch's words--Tomlinson said same thing about Patriots years ago-and it's part of how certain guys deal with losing. Tom Brady immediately went over to Sanchez--who was also shaking hands with all of the Patriots, and Belichick was very gracious with Ryan.
Just because you don't like someone/have a heated rivalry--doesn't mean it's bad. You shouldn't like your opponent. In a game based on physical contact, it should be two teams not liking each other. All that happened last week is guys said what they actually felt on several teams (AFC side at least) and it's been this way throughout. I remember when Jimmy Johnson called into a local sports radio show and told them to put it into 3 inch type "WE WILL WIN THE GAME"--about the upcoming SF-Dallas NFC Title game--and Jerry Rice and the usually "professional" 49ers were out there trying to start a pregame fight---and low and behold--you had MORE VIEWERS. Look at viewers for Jets-Pats--it was through the roof! That is what fans like--people like good vs evil, brash vs reserved, etc...it makes it more fun to watch.
We all are Hoya fans--and nothing was better then an entire arena being so depressed that Georgetown would win a game or feed off an altercation where guys got into it. Doesn't mean anything but the competition/intensity goes up a level--you either match it or you lose. Just so much more fun to watch when it's heated if you ask me. Rivalries form this way--and I don't want Pats-Jets, Steelers-Ravens to be hugging/playing 2 hand touch like some of the NFL talking heads who have Goodell's ear would love.

Four SB's and three wins in the past decade is pretty good.

I don't like the Jets, but I'm not sure what everyone has against Ryan. He's a little cocky at times, but he can also be pretty classy (see his press conference after the win). Is he a bit of a blowhard? Probably. But while I don't like the Jets, I will take all their cockiness over Roethlisberger.

The guy is hugely entertaining and a welcome change from the dour, perpetually p.o.'d Belichicks of the world. Seriously, Bill, you've won 3 Super Bowls - it's OK to freaking smile. Give me Rex Ryan any day of the week - plus, the guy can clearly coach. I'm not a Jets fan at all. I'm just glad there's a good NFL team with a little personality for a change.

Rex Ryan is living somewhat of a charmed life right now. I don't think he is nearly as good a coach as he is luckily showing the past couple of years. Of course, at some point if it continues, then maybe I am just wrong.
This just in: NO ONE likes the Jets.

brasky, you're a hoot! Man, how do you come up with this stuff? I mean, you are a real riot! It's amazing Letterman hasn't snatched you up to write for him. I guess we should all consider ourselves very, very lucky!

Super Bowl item--how can Jerry Jones top himself, the man who sold standing room seats during regular season games? Easy--he's selling tickets for people who are willing to stand outside the stadium, too. Price? $200 a person. Bizarre. sports.espn.go.com/dallas/nfl/news/story?id=6037397

Bizarre. sports.espn.go.com/dallas/nfl/news/story?id=6037397Yeah, that was a hot topic on sportstalk yesterday. I understand that the Super Bowl is something special, but to the best of my knowledge, this is in totally unchartered waters. Tailgatoring around the stadium is pretty much of a given, for all games. Sure, sometimes there will be some sort of limited access area featuring special foods/drinks or maybe live entertainment, but even in those cases, they are typically free or at worst, some almost trivial ticket charge. The Florida-Georgia game has a large viewing area with jumbotrons and assorted concession venders, but again, it's free to get in and $5 if you want an armband allowing you to buy beers. I know in January '07, Glendale had an area designated as a viewing party for those who didn't have tickets. It was divided into a Gator section and a Buckeye section. A couple of hours before the game they had the team Cheerleaders and mascots as well as pre-recorded interviews with some coaches and players. But still, the ticket was only $20. I heard of several friends that chose that option when they couldn't find affordable tickets. But who thinks that spending $200 for the right to sit on the grass and watch the game is much of an option? I'm presuming that the fee also covers all your food and beverages ... but still.

I'm guessing it doesn't include the parking fee.

Tom Jackson the symbol of "motivation" and "professionalism".
Maybe that is what Dick Vitale is doing for Duke opponents?
Or ESPN is doing when they defend Cam Newton despite their billion dollar television contract with SEC and new BCS Contract that had them showing all of the games this year?
ESPN is the National Enquirer of Sports and has become such a joke it's embarrassing.
Not to get too off topic--but tennis analyst Mary Carillo recently left ESPN because she disagreed with them forcing her to hype American tennis players and being a "fan" on the air. She just wanted to comment/report on the game/what she saw and they elected to go in a different direction.
ESPN also omitted that Craig James agent was one of the big boosters who helped SMU get the Death Penalty and contributed to the payments. The fact James played there and was there during the heyday of filth yet was covered like an "angel in misled to hell" was sickening in the SMU 30/30 piece.
So back on topic--Tom Jackson will likely get a raise based on this unprofessional garbage as he's gotten ESPN "Brand" out in the public some more. You know--they don't get enough promotion.
