I get that he's highly ranked and all but he just doesn't seem that outstanding to me. Every game I have watched of his, commentators always talk about how he barely gets the ball. That could be just because of his guards, but when he does get it, he coughs it up with a long jump shot. Hasn't dominated in any game I've seen this season. He played very well in the game versus Oak Hill a few weeks back.

DO NOT WANT.
Lazy. Not a great finisher at rim. Sucks on defense. He'd be a great fit for what is going on at UCLA.
Funny thing watching the games today--you see fits for certain programs and hope for the player's sake they make right decision. For instance-Shabazz Muhammed should play at Kentucky or UNLV as they play a style that fits his skill set/game. If he goes to UCLA--he'll never improve and be surrounded by slow footed guys who can't run up and down--Jordan Adams, Kyle Anderson, Josh Smith, and possibly Tony Parker. When has Howland let his guys push the ball and this is a coach who had Russell Westbrook and Darren Collison out there too.
Parker should go to Ohio State. Matta would make him tougher and Ohio State big men don't have to defend-they just have to rebound. Sullinger couldn't guard anyone on this board but he gets boards and they have Amir Williams to be the interior defender/shot blocker so Parker can play PF.
Georgetown should go hard after Winston Shepard of Findlay Prep-he fits what they do/are about as a wing player--versatile, defends, and good hoops IQ.
Love Nigel Williams Goss for Hoyas too--big/tough defender and drives well. If you want role playing guards--a 6'4 PG is way to go instead of just smallish undersized backcourt--like Starks/DSR will be--as DSR is a 2 guard--he's not a point at all.
I'm beyond thankful Georgetown didn't sign anyone from DeMatha. The DMV hasn't been very strong lately and fact is if DeMatha is best team--i'm less then impressed again and would look for kids like Whittington as "sleepers" more then "Stars" of TakeOver or DeMatha. Will say Grant picked a great school for him-he fits Syracuse and they develop wings well and Robinson fits Pitt-as a guard who excels at nothing, doesn't really do anything decent and gets hype.

I'm 100% with you on the Shepard kid RDF, that kid was impressive. The staff should make a late push for him.. The schools he lists are good programs but not top tier. I liked the Taylor kid from Simeon who's going to Marquette too, he would have fit nicely at G'town. I thought the Goss kid was very good also, I'd take him in a heartbeat.. Wasn't there some interest at some point? Getting back to Parker though I'd take him because he's good away from the basket. He has a nice jumper, he passes well and can put the ball on the floor too. You're right he doesn't finish around the hoop as well as he should and he is a loafer but those things can be coached up. The 5 spot in JT3's system has to be a threat from 15-18ft and in

With the bigs left in 2012, I might just run with Moses and a in-shape Tyler for next yr.

Not completely geedell. You have spring defections and firings which opens things up. Hate relying on that but with Bolden and the two current bigs hoyas will be solid. Now if Noel jumps back into '12 look out.

did I miss the part that Broadus has been let off his special assistant leash and promoted back to full assistant that he can recruit again?

"Georgetown University’s basketball coach, John Thompson III, posed with fans Saturday night after Dunwoody High’s game with then top-ranked Miller Grove. His ninth-ranked Hoyas had beaten Rutgers earlier that day in Washington, D.C., and he flew to Dunwoody to see the game. Before he left he met Tom Bass, an assistant principal at Dunwoody and an all-star pitcher for Georgetown during his college days." www.thecrier.net/sports/image_7d402766-469a-11e1-a7a4-001871e3ce6c.html

Can't believe I missed that game. Completely forgot all about it. That's literally right near me.

May still be in it here: "My coaches said Big John (former Georgetown coach John Thompson Sr.) was at my game last Saturday versus Dunwoody. Having him at one of my games is an absolute honor because he is a great coach and man. He has done a lot for basketball, and my family really appreciated him coming because they grew up watching Georgetown in their neighborhood. If you were a good basketball player, Georgetown was the place to be." espn.go.com/blog/high-school/boys-basketball/post/_/id/2845/espnhs-player-diary-meet-the-other-tony-parker

Good info. As you know-I'm not biggest fan-but will support anyone who decides to sign with Hoyas/hope for best. So glad Pops is out recruiting for Hoyas--they need him until Broadus can be back on road.

It is one of the reasons why JT3 was uniquely positioned to restore GU to its former glory, as he has already done. Today's top recruits may not know the whole JT-GU story, but their parents do. I've posted about this before and cited Jeff Green's parents as examples. Also agree with RDF's earlier posts about Tony P's game -- the pluses and minuses. I disagree though, or rather, add a point. Even if Tony P is not the ideal recruit for our current system, not getting him or anyone else of his size and skill would be much worse. He does need to work hard on his conditioning, strength, and especially his D. But the guy knows how to score and would be a valuable piece of a TEAM. Stay on it JT! Do for your son what you declined to do for yourself in the latter part of your GU career.

It would be unbelievable if we could pick up another notable '12 recruit rather than take a stab at a benny or some JC'er.

Could come towards the end of the season. With us in on Parker and Pollard in '12 (and now Noel...holy crap), who knows what could happen.
