I believe that UMD was the #1 seed. Great going women. All the way to a match with Portland. EDIT: Right now UP having their hands full with UW; 2nd OT just started; sounds like the GU-UMD game, at 1-1 in two OTs.

Minnie took down #4 seeded Texas A&M, a traditional soccer powerhouse.

Well, with two #1 seeds gone, the Hoyas have a good chance to go far. Portland lost the same way that the Hoyas won, in a PK situation after 2 OTs. Their PK went 10-9 (I don't think I have ever heard of it going 10 deep).

HELL YEAH! Congrats to the ladies. While the round of 16 is sweet, you don't have to stop there, keep it going!

Maryland coach obviously consulted with Sweaty for list of excuses. Well at least they have their academics to fall back on.

No score at halftime vs Minn. I believe shots and shots on goal are even. This one could go down to the wire!

There is a free Gametracker on GUHoyas. We're in the 65th minute now - still no score.

Hoyas win 1-0!!!
Scored on a corner kick with 44 seconds to go in regulation.
EDIT: It was hard to see on the video feed, it looked like a scramble on the line, but the announcer and the official scorer gave it to Samantha Baker who took the kick, so it must've gone straight in...probably off some kind of touch from Minny.

Samantha Baker converts a corner (it appears from GameTracker) in the 89th minute to put us ahead 1-0. A very even match.
