RobEngemann Thoroughly impressed by Jabril Trawick at the #EGC yesterday. He embodies a Ron Artest-type mindset. Does that mean he's crazy? ;D

more coverage from Eddie Griffin Jabril Trawick (Jenkintown, Pa./Abington Friends School) 2011, SF, 6-5, 200 pounds Maybe "surprise" isn't the right term since he's headed to Georgetown, however, what's happened with Trawick since June is noteworthy. He plays in attack mode, puts his head down and charges the rim with a certain confidence mixed with nastiness that you admire. He's a fringe top 100 prospect who could push his way through if his jumper improves. Bottom line: You want to play with him rather than against him. sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/recruiting/basketball/mens/news/story?id=5699980

I will admit that I wasn't totally sold on this kid when he committed, particularly given the list of other schools he was considering. However, the recent reports have been extremely encouraging. Sounds like a junkyard dog type with considerable upside. I'd love somebody like Ron Artest on our squad.

Must be a Philly thing, he has that same Tyreke Evans ability, to just bully his way towards the basket.

Impressed that in a meaningless All Star game--he showed better defense on his man then I saw from entire Hoya roster all of last 2 years.

I like what I see in that video -- he plays tough and is super athletic. If he has or can develop an outside shot than we might really have something.

Team rankings wouldn't seem to mean much. Look at Kentucky. #1 class in 2009 and they are all gone so you are starting from scratch each year with this approach. I like the GU approach, whether intentional or not.

First, this: "Weaknesses: His jump shot goes down but it tends to get flat. He has confidence to pull it and could be a good shooter, simply has to get his rotation and arc adjusted." Then: "He's a great looking athlete that knows how to score and showed the ability to consistently knock down the 3-ball," LaPlante added."

Telep didn't say he couldn't shoot the 3-ball, just that his mechanics could use some work.
That's all and from the video I've seen, I agree.

The weaknesses' concern would be that his shot could suffer when facing better and taller defenders.
That's not inconsistent with the quote.
