Seems to me that the foundation is being poured for the next few years. Solid, interchangeable, defensive-capable guards/players, with some grit. Mix in a few/couple high profile bigs/wings for '12 and suddenly you've got an athletic, deep, physical group.

At least we should be able to find someone in that group to guard the 2's and 3's that burned us last season.

I know we shouldn't place too much weight on player rankings, but i was pleasantly surprised to see how high Jabril is rated in comparison to other recent Hoya recruits. Here is a breakdown:
Jabril Trawick - 4 star - scouts grade 93 Moses Abraham - 3 star - scouts grade 90 Aaron Bowen - 3 star - scouts grade 88 Markel Starks - 4 star - scouts grade 94 Nate Lubich - 4 star - scouts grade 95 Jerrelle Benimon - 2 star - scouts grade 83 Vee Sanford - 2 star - scouts grade 86 Hollis Thompson - 3 star - scouts grade 91 (seems low...possibly impacted because he skipped his senior season)
In short, according to Scout....Jabril is one of our better recruits and on par with the Nate's, Markel's and Hollis' of the the world.

We've seen Vee and we've had some 2s recently (I think Jeremiah was higher, but that was all about his last name). He's not a 2. Bowen will surprise.

Unrelated, but anyone who hasn't checked out the pictures from yesterday of the players at the JT3 community event on Glidehoya's site should do so.
I was heartened by a couple of things that Trawick said re picking G'town One of the subjects I will save for a later time, but the fact that he referred to the Hoya basketball program as "legendary" (or a similar adjective to that effect) was great - because it's true. This statement got me thinking - how many collegenhops programs could a recruit say that about with a straight face. Here's the list that I came up with of unequivocally (or at least close to it) "legendary" programs
Georgetown Duke UNC Kentucky Kansas Indiana UCLA Louisville Syracuse
Am I leaving any deserving programs off of this list?

Michigan State. Close to 1500 wins. 2 national championships. 8 final fours.

Am I leaving any deserving programs off of this list? I think there are some tiers here: Tier I-Multiple national titles (>3) and multiple Final Four appearances across more than 50 years: UCLA Kentucky North Carolina Duke Kansas Indiana Tier II- Multiple national championships and Final Four appearances across more than 50 years: Louisville Michigan State Tier III-At least one national title and consistent NCAA placement over the years: Ohio State Georgetown Syracuse Connecticut Arizona Villanova Florida Maryland Tier IV: Great programs of the last 30 years that have fallen into obscurity: UNLV Arkansas Houston NC State St. John's Michigan

I think the current direction in this thread needs its own thread. I'm sure Hifi would have some great commentary to provide in the new thread.

@therecruitscoop
2011 Georgetown commit Jabril Trawick is recruiting his good friend, Daniel Ochefu '12, to become a Hoya.

His jump shot mechanics look to need some help (shoots it too low, too slow).

CO_ that was shootaround didn't look slow in game conditions. now, may still be low, but he'll adapt if he gets blocked enough. but you can sense his toughenss in this link...

His mechanics look good to me. There's a lot of good shooters with suspect forms.
