Nice interview and seems like a smart kid... Why is it that the mid-range seems like a lost art? Seems like kids these days just score around the rim or from the 3. Work hard on it, Jabril, the stop and pop is a money-maker.

I haven't found much info on the internet about this kid. Where is he rated? He's not listed on rivals top 150 for 2011, i'm guessing he's a 3 star or 2 star prospect? I would hope we would be recruiting bigs really hard at this point and not guards..

At least he recognizes it pr. I'm sure it'll be a point of emphasis @ kenner next summer.

report from AAU play in June...... blog.northstarbball.com/2010/06/16/rumble-in-the-bronx-day-three-rundown.aspxJabril Trawick once again showed his ridiculous athletic ability while at the Rumble in the Bronx. The 6'6 forward needs work on his overall, all-around skill set, specifically his jumpshot, but his hops are amazing. Trawick gets to the hoop, and though he sometimes tries to get too fancy with his dunks, he can be a ferocious finisher. His handle is solid and he has a sturdy frame. If he improves his jumper, Trawick could end up playing at a high-major Division I school. Jabril Trawick ’11, Abington Friends (PA), Playaz: La Salle, Temple, Richmond, Charlotte, George Washington, UMass, Rhode Island, St. Bonaventure, St. Joseph’s, St. Louis, Xavier, St. John’s, Drexel, Nebraska, Marist, Bowling Green, Iona, Quinnipiac, Texas A&M, Bucknell, Penn, Yale, Penn State, Georgia Tech, and Maryland Offers: La Salle and Drexel Favorite: “A good school I’d like to go to is Xavier. Schools can recruit me, but it doesn’t mean nothing if I don’t have the offer. At the end of the summer I should know [abut offers].” Note- Trawick said of his long school list, “A lot are recently [starting to] recruit me. All of the schools contacted my uncle or my coaches.” Normally running with Team Phenom, Trawick was with the Playaz this weekend. “I still play with Team Phenom, but I’m gonna do some stuff with the Playaz too,” he said.

If he becomes a Hoya, I will root hard for him... but I'm always worried when the reports about a recruit question shooting ability. That's a pretty critical skill for our offense.

If we lose an unranked kid like this to Florida State, then I think it's time to go ahead and declare that the sky is falling from a recruiting standpoint.

Trawick committed to Georgetown. www.therecruitscoop.com/jabril-trawick-commits-to-georgetownJabril Trawick, a 6-foot-5 shooting guard from Abington Friends High School in Pennsylvania, has seen his stock rise over the last year. Trawick was a virtual unknown a few years ago. Now he is one of the top seniors in the Philadelphia area. This weekend, the guard went on an official visit to Georgetown. He came out a Hoya. “I just committed to Georgetown,” Trawick said by text. Georgetown coach John Thompson III and staff were very pleased with what they saw this summer out of Jabril. They offered during the July live period. “The coaching staff and the group of players that I will be playing with is a big reason why I chose Georgetown,” Trawick stated. “The time we will get on television is awesome and I really like the Verizon Center. There are a lot of connections there, it’s like a pipeline.” Jabril will also see some significant minutes early on. “(Current Hoyas) Austin and Chris are leaving and I’m going to fill in.” He also commented on the location, “It’s a good location; it’s not to far from home.” As the Philly native is the first commitment for the class of 2011, Georgetown looks to head in the right direction with this commitment. During his official visit, Trawick got to see and experience the Georgetown lifestyle. “I got to play pickup with former Hoya, Roy Hibbert,” he stated. “It was a good time.” Jabril was down to the Big East school and Florida State. This time, the Hoya’s came up big and received a commitment from a guard who has NBA potential.

Welcome aboard! Wish we knew more about him, but getting a tough, athletic Philly wing can't hurt.
