OK, I'll give you "immature" for tweeting profanity rather than "not smart." As an alumni, the last thing I want is ESPN getting a hold of that and putting our G next to that quote. Kids are kids, I get it, but you gotta use your head when talking about the school that is paying for your education. That expletive won't fly when he is on the team.
But my point still stands--is there room for that "toughness" or "wrong-side of the tracks" can he fit in the princeton/georgetown offense?
I'm not whining about the offense, but asking if Jabril-type players will be frustrated that JT3 stresses passes over dribble-drive and team-defense over 1-on-1 lockdown?

Kruk...what is the word in JC with Kyle Anderson?
Of Bronxitos' comedy career it is strictly for the net or after he drinks 7 Pints of Guinness in a crowded pub.

If strummers thoughts are what the majority want then its time to dust of the appllication to the CAC. Bronxie is on target this program needs a major injection of toughness and attitude. Don't care if they come north of 110th street or from the country. sad thing is not as many around today as 20 years ago. prep factories have taken the edge out of lot of kids. give me a few freddy browns and j Durens and you wouldn't be talking about late season meltdowns. I for one miss the attitude that one M. Graham brought to the game. Strummer i know you'd feel alot better if we all could go have tea and crumpets after the game together like they use to up at St. Marks but that is not be the recipe for success in this league. Also think your taking Bronxie a bit too literally on his steet fighting comment but then again i've known a few non-athlete grads who would have fared quite well upon on 110 st. in the day. Don't know anyone who has been embarrased by them.

I'm sure Jabril will be utterly shocked when he shows up and finds out JT 3 has decided to throw his dribble-drive, run-and-gun, 7-seconds-or-less offense out the window and take a stab at something resembling a Princeton offense.

inexact science.
as said Pat JR didn't grow up without anything and he played with a chip on his shoulder. Nate comes from an 'All American Family' and has it, too.
Sapp came out of Woodrow Wilson projects and had it.
Jon Wallace came from a farm and had no outward display of emotion, but tough as nails.
I dont know how you make for certain a kid has 'it' but we need to find it.

No, it'll take him a year to realize he doesn't fit . . . like Rivers, Macklin, Omar, and Mescheriakov

Only Rivers really left because of the system.

Rivers excuse was the system. he left because he was never going to see much more than 15 min a game going forward.

Young man appears to have a strong body too. I want him going after Jason Clark with reckless abandon all summer. Clark never developed like I thought he would.

Bronxie maybe a militant or just a realist.....anyway heed the word of the brother. Attitude is what we need provided by kids who have been in street fights against bald head cats named Percy and Leonard Jenkins from the west side. Enough of these Ricky Stratton kids Bronxitos wants kids from the wrong side of 110th street who ask no quarter and give none. I assure you if we had a roster with some kids like I described we would not be dominated on the boards so often. That has to change. I want quickness and athletes who do not get beat off the dribble 90% of the time. Bronx wants Ron Artest! And you know what? I agree (except maybe not quite that crazy).

I just don't think that attitude is inextricably linked to growing up in a bad neighborhood or behaving any specific way off the court. Bronxie mentioned David Wingate. I was born his junior year, so I didn't really have much of an opinion of him as a recruit, but if we recruited another David Wingate, I'd have no problem with it. My point is just that it's not like we need to send III out to random "rough neighborhoods" in order to get quality recruits with toughness and attitude. Those are qualities we can and should find in all different places.

Wingate had one of the quickest first steps I've ever seen.

Loved the tweets from Jabril! I hope the transition from the high school game to the BE goes as smoothly as possible. The trip to China will help a lot. I hope JT3 puts Jabril on Clark in practice and gets him to concentrate on stealing the ball from Clark. It will help JC in the long run.

Aggressive -- [uh-gres-iv]. I looked it up in the dictionary. I found pictures of the following Pat Sr. Pat Jr Alonzo Craig "Big Sky" Shelton Johnnie Ba Ba Duren Reggie Williams Allen Iverson Derrick Jackson Michael Graham Eric "Sleepy" Floyd David Wingate Charles Smith Boubacar Aw and about 100 others.
Funny thing, about 98% of those kids graduated from GU too.

Great article Allen...how is Jabril's defense? Does he have the potential to be a JR type defensive stopper?

Wingate had one of the quickest first steps I've ever seen. +1. Plus his defense was just outstanding. I hope this kid approximates Wingate's qualities as a player. Wingate was great.
