"Hank" (who the f is Hank? are we doing a 50s thing?) aka Henry Sims doesn't have to be great this year, or even vastly improved.
All H-bomb has to do is be somewhere between fine and pretty good. I think he can handle that.
To have a great season, all we need is solidity from the post. Effort and sweat, not tons of points. Less doosh, more toughness. The key to that happening is Nate Lubick due to his style and attitude which will push everybody else. This is a guard year. The good news is that unlike the all-eggs-in-one-basket Monroe era, we should have 4 guys in the post who can be somewhere between find and pretty good. I'm psyched to see a real Big East-worthy post.

Agree SFHoya. It won't be the end of the world if we go small. There are several teams in recent years who have had great seasons by playing small ball--Pitt, Marquette, Nova to name a few. The key will be adjusting the JT III system for the smaller line-up. That means a much more aggressive pressure oriented defense and not allowing the other team to bring the ball down unchecked. It's not the end of the world, but it does limit our ceiling, I think. Teams can go small. But we don't have the personnel to do that. Hollis Thompson is not Lazar Hayward, or Randy Foye or or whomever. We're not really a team that plays above its height, so I don't see it as a good thing. I don't think it's going to hurt the O much, though.

I would not underestimate JT3's ability to coach a height-challenged rotation. Afterall, he was fairly successful at Princeton with half-athletes and a lack of height. Competition was uncomparable to the BE, but still there are too many examples of small ball working to dismiss the notion that JT3 can coach these guys up to a fairly high level. Besides, Lubick is going to be the FOY in the Big East this season so the frontcourt will be fine.

IDK if Nate will win FOY, he'll have to focus on not fouling out on defense.
We would be fine if we played small ball...1-4 would drop back on D after a made shot, defense would be funneled into the middle, we would get quite a few fast break points off turnovers.
