Well, the good news is that we know Kentucky won't lose a Final Four appearance...

The best news about this situation is that it's Pete Thamel going after it. he's relentless. he'll find something.
It's really amusing reading the kentucky board and how little they understand about anything. Apparently you don't need high school grades to get into college just an SAT and they apparently do not know anything about the rose situation because they keep on repeating, this happened in high school so it can't affect us.
3 strikes and you're out Cal.

3 strikes and you're out Cal. Except he has really gotten any strikes, just programs he has been at. He'll skate again, but this time will stay at Kentucky because he really cant go up (unless he wants to got he NBA), and maybe the school will be on probation so after next year when this happens again he will actually get into trouble. And to think a guy like Kelvin Sampson makes a few hundred phone calls and can never coach in the NCAA again, but Cal gets to walk away every time

Well my point was that even though he hasn't been tied to anything i think they can say you were at the helm in 3 situations where things that were illegal went down, that's enough for us to ban you.

The man is a scandal magnet.
Appplicable cliches: smoke and fire relationship; making one's own luck koan ...
Please make your own addition, ladies and gentlemen. It's June.

I don't like "scandal magnet."
It implies a lack of agency on the part of the primary actor and also implies a little bit of "wrong place, wrong time."
The fact of the matter is that he is responsible - directly responsible - for these things going on at the places he coaches.
I think the more applicable metaphor would be "scandal virus."

I see your point, and in fact used the term reluctantly, but unfortunately, I'm a Jesuit product who studied law with at least one Orthodox rebbe and Talmudic scholar, who doesn't have sufficient mastery of the data to say, "J'accuse!"
Having said that, I wouldn't wipe him off the bottom of a of custom-made shoe.
I'd throw the pair away.
