Coach John Thompson III & Georgetown are now showing "major interest" towards 7'4 Sim Bhullar '12 of Kiski Prep. 7'4 Sim Bhullar '12 plans to visit Georgetown next fall.

Tanveer Bhullar ’13, Kiski School (PA), Team Takeover Canada 15s: Penn State, Pitt, Maryland, LSU, Stanford, USC, and West Virginia were the ones he could remember Offers: None Favorites: “Right now West Virginia, but I’m trying to look for a school that has a history with big men, such as Georgetown, UConn, and Pitt.”
"Maybe the biggest player in the class of 2013, Tanveer Bhullar stands 7'2 and weighs 240-pounds. While he has a lot of work to do, his size alone makes him a player for high-major programs to monitor, as they are already doing."

From Dave Telep at Pangos this weekend:
"Sim Bhullar, C: It’s been a while since we’ve seen a prospect this size. How big is he? He’s not Neil Fingleton (7-6) but he’s bigger than Shagari Alleyne and Gerry Sokolowski. Bhullar is 7-4 and probably 320 pounds. Since we last saw him in November he’s improved. He’s got some touch from the perimeter but still needs to work on his touch around the hoop; he did score an easy tip dunk. His size, obviously, is tough to deal with. Anything he catches at the rim is going to make it to the goal. If he catches the above above his head and turns, blocking his shot isn’t an option.
The big question isn’t so much his ability it will be how to use him. College basketball isn’t the same game it was in the mid-80s when giants ruled the land and Mark Eaton played in the high post for Utah. Changing ends for a guy this size, at the highest level, is a concern. The reality is it’s too early to make a legitimate projection and it will be interesting to watch him develop. He and his brother Tanveer Bhullar (2013, 7-3) will have everyone’s attention and schools at all levels will track their progress."

These guys are to slow and too clumsy to be difference makers. Defensively they'd be abused. PASS

Let's remember you are looking at 2 giants age 14 and 15 - freshman and soph in HS. Where was Roy at this point?
I would like to know if their grades are good - there's so many coach 'em up areas one can handle - no time in the day to do everything What is their attitude? -Are they hard workers? Are they determined to be the best they can be? Will they work hard to improve? Are they tough guys? - It's hard to tell from the video but will they battle it out? Are they willing to do all the boring training to improve their speed and agility? Are they willing to put extra time in the weight room to increase their strength? Are they willing to give up garbage food and slim down to more muscle? What is the parent's attitude? Are they a package? - or can you take the best one? There are a lot of questions
Before we dismiss them, I think we should get a feel for the realistic chances of improvment.

Hibbert was the exception to the rule--you keep going to this well and you end up with Pascal Fleury 9 out of 10 times and NOT Roy Hibbert. Hibbert was highly regarded in HS--he suffered from numerous injuries to his feet/legs as he was growing so fast. His skill set was far superior to these guys. Hibbert's career at Georgetown ended with silly fouls 25 feet from basket costing him playing time-and these two guys make Hibbert look like Usain Bolt (credit Eric Bossi for the Bolt joke) so how would that work? If you are trying to get more versatile, athletic, and improve team defensively, then you steer away from guys who are sloths.

It's interesting that Telep brought up Fingleton. Fingleton was a disaster for UNC - size isn't everything in college ball.

I think it is probably a long shot that these guys become impact high major college players, but I also think it is premature to summarily "pass." Why not stay engaged, recruit, monitor, and make a decision when they are Junior/Seniors? Not too much skin off our back to show the giant brothers that Big Man U is interested.
Always better to show some love early rather than try to swoop in at the last second if they turn out to be good. Usually the recruits keep a soft spot for the programs that were on them early and often.

So if these two are a "package deal"--you want 2 of the 13 players on roster to be 7'4 projects? Monitor them-fine--but this reminds me of the 7'3 kid from MD who we got constant updates about--Jake K or whatever and he was talked up big--and was/is a TOTAL STIFF.

Jakub Kusmieruk, at UCF, started playing baskeball REAL late, and yes, has looked like a REAL stiff in 2 years of college... The point to me is not that we should take every 7 foot foreign project in the country but rather than we should want every 7 foot foreign project to want to come to Big Man U. From there the coaching staff can make its decisions about potential, need, etc. So, to Sim and Tanveer: keep working hard.

From Rivals article of Nike Global Challenge:
"Biggest Underachiever: Sim Bhullar. Canada's gentle giant seems like a nice, unassuming kid and that's great. But when a 7-foot-4 center gets outrebounded 11-6 by a (generously tape-measured) 5-foot-11 point guard (Carson), there's probably room for more assertiveness."
