Yes, I have. He's a stud. Skill set comparable with Greg Monroe....still has some work to do on his back to the basket game. Better athlete than Greg with a good motor. Defensively on par with Alonzo Mourning. Smart kid....everything you'd want in a Hoya.

I've seen him as well...he's all that and a bag of chips. He WILL lead the country in blocked shots next year.... phenomenal timing instincts, great body control, and a quick bounce off the floor. His offense is behind defense... but looks very comfortable driving to the hoop and finishes well with either hand around the basket. The offense his high school team ran involved him igniting the offense from the top of the key a lot....similar to what the Henry often does.

I wish Greg were around to talk to him. Luckily he's busy getting double-doubles almost every night as the star of his NBA team in only his second year in the league. I think that speaks for itself.

This is a great job by Staff. It also shows Hoyas are in top 3 and have shot to make it a 3 team race--with good visit because the likelihood of other teams getting a visit in period he set aside to take them is slim/none. Its' first time I can remember an official visitor at any school for an NCAA tournament team on Selection Sunday. Hoyas have brought in unofficials a lot but great move to give themselves a shot.
Crash--his AAU team used him in same manner-he's played high post on offensive end for BABC and Tilton.
Pops need to be assigned Nerlens the minute he steps foot on campus. Nobody gets more excited then Pops recruiting a talented big man!

I got my wish. Get Nerlens on an official for Selection Sunday. Now let's complete the Selection Sunday trifecta. Moses in 2010, Whitt in 2011 and Nerlens in 2012. Yes!

As fun and important the BET is to Hoya Blue members, their next responsibility is Selection Sunday, even if Noel wasn't coming. Should be an ultimate experience of school spirit!

Nobody gets more excited then Pops recruiting a talented big man! For $500,000 a year, surely Pops can work some of his magic during the visit. Cannot emphasize how great of a job it was to get this visit in. UNC is going to be going deep in tournament--although I could see them trying to get a visit set up around Jordan Brand game (it's in NC again) and he could visit Uconn (why they are in it, I still don't know and I'm saying this strictly off the APR thing-they do great job with bigs, great program, but why go somewhere and not even be eligible for postseason play--and I'm including BET--why would conference allow them to cost another team chance at bid if they aren't able to be in NCAA's?) anytime and has been there several times unofficially. So it's a 3 team race and if Nerlens is smart--he'll keep that "We'd use you on the wing of our zone" comment from Boeheim in his head--that would be a complete waste of his abilities/talents. UK vs Georgetown makes most sense for type of player he is/how he'd be utilized, but as we know, recruiting and common sense rarely end up taking place.

Awesome news!
For anybody who hasn't seen him play, check out the full-game video that yaboynyp posted on the last page. I was really impressed by his ball handling and speed at the high post. Great fit. And defensively... wow.
Should be an amazing atmosphere on Sunday. Students should be returning from Spring Break that day too. Hopefully Hoya Blue and the AD will publicize the event so students can make plans to get back in time and so there can be as many people there as possible.

To Lic....the kid doesn't have to be as good as advertised for our team next year. He only needs to give us 10 pts and 3-4blks. Whitt and Otto are only gonna get better. So many games this year I have watched smaller bigs score on Hank at the rim. That needs to be changed and that part of Nerlens hype is definately as good as advertised. If Jabril and Markel improve and we land Nerlens, we will be favored to win every game we play. We also have Moses, Hop, Nate, and BB to play the 4/5. I don't want to think about landing Nerlens anymore.............I really believe that landing Nerlens is more important to our success next year than Kyle.............

This kid is an amazing talent. Getting him would be a coup of biblical proportions. We've got a shot. Buzz was he wasn't blown away by UK and Cuse has a crowded front court and won't use his defensive talents to their fullest extent. No one thought Greg Monroe would be a Hoya when he visited, and we know how that turned out. Just another reason why a good run in the BE Tourney would be huge. Let's have some good vibes when Noel comes in!

Worth noting for any visitors from Kentucky or Cuse that here we are referring only and exclusively to POPS earning $500,000 a year, not Noel.

I can't believe they play on a 9-foot rim in New England. That's pathetic.

With Nerlens, we just might have the deepest team in the nation next year. And if Hollis can be convinced to come back, I believe we'll have a very strong argument for preseason #1 nationally. We would legitimately go 10 deep, 2 deep at every position with TALENT.
PG- Markel Starks, JR SG- Hollis Thompson, SR SF- Otto Porter, SO PF- Nate Lubick, JR C- Nerlens Noel, FR
Bench PG- D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera, FR SG- Jabril Trawick, SO SF- Greg Whittington, SO PF- Mikael Hopkins, SO C- Moses Ayegba, JR
That's team can lock down defensively with stellar length and athleticism. It can rebound. It can pass. It can score both inside and outside, in the post, off the alley-oop, face-up, back to the basket, dribble drive, 3 pointer off the catch, 3 pointer off the dribble, mid range, you name it. Damn.

I would like Nerlens to be casually approached by Roy, Wale, Pops, and Dikembe over the course of his visit. If President Obama wants to swing by, that works too.
Then, I would like a packed student section watching us receive a 2 seed following the Big East tournament, prompting Nerlens to realize that the nation's capital is the best place to be, and causing him to commit on the spot. And somewhere in the twitterverse, an elite PG decommits for 2012, and decides to join the party as well.
Finally, after winning a second consecutive NCAA championship next year, Nerlens can return for the 3peat, before departing as yet another Gtown #1 overall pick. Preferably, we will then see camera shots of Jim Boeheim, who is crying as he decides it isn't worth it to coach a canadian team that will never compete for an ACC title.
At this time, I will buy a few cases of champagne, distribute them to the loyal citizens of hoyatalk, and we will clink glasses and laugh about the minor NCAA drought that proved only a misstep in the larger history of the hilltop.
Cheers!
