This board is starting to sound like a Syracuse board very creepy. Come on Sleepy--what makes you say that? So did I tell you that after I cheated on my coloring exam in "Cheddar Bob 101", that I headed over to Scoop Jardine's to get a new stash and on my way there--I decided to beat the snot out of some girl who said I wasn't smarte enuff to b a stoodunt affleet at Siracuuuce. Quickly was covered up by Coach B and he told me to head over to Mrs. Fine's for a "cram session". Andy and Leo Rautins were just leaving and said they were on their way to Sean McDonough's school of journalism to meet with Pete Thamel on Ethics and Recruiting. His topic--Accountability and Credibility.

As most I was disappointed, not really that we didn't get him (okay, maybe some), but last week, I didn't think we had a chance, but this week, with all the rumors, leaks, etc., I thought we had a fighting chance, and in the last five minutes I thought we had won. But all along, I was thinking about what Georgetown and a one and done had in common. From us of a certain age, it seemed like they were incompatible. It would have nice for the team to have NN, but... I'm guessing we're of a similar vintage. Had the same reaction - not sure I want my alma mater to be too compatible with the typical one and done and all that that entails these days.

I still think we would be better off with a guy like Upshaw who would be around long enough to develop chemistry with the team. While I think we could have been amazing with Nerlens, I think he was a better fit for Kentucky. I just can't wait until kentucky sucks next year and the hoyas win the national championship. deleted

Enough of the sour grapes and thinking that every recruit that chooses another school has been influenced by illicit offers. Let's move on. I don't wish ill on anyone. So many here were sucking up and ready to "kiss his ass" if he chose Gtown. Well--he didn't. This thread didn't get to 158 pages by itself.

It is actually pretty funny cuz all these ragers believe that he is the second coming of Ewing and Mourning. He is definitely NOT. So calm down, we didn't really lose much out of it. I have always believed that he has been overhyped, which some of you guys were not able to accept, and my view still does not change. Yeah, having him would have been nice, but like RDF said, we return the core of this year's team next year, which is really important. He chose the school where the slogans "taking my talents to..." and "shock the world" fit to. Good for him and wish him the best luck, although he will never shock the world like this year's Kentucky team. Watch out for Cal reaching out to Devonta btw - but with a plenty of 2/3s we have and I don't think there is not much to lose out either even if he chooses somewhere else.

We're losing Sims, Clark and Hollis. Those were our 3 leading scorers. We in no way, shape or form return the core of last year's team.

I don't bear any ill will toward NN at all. He made a perfectly legitimate choice (even if perhaps for not totally legitimate reasons), and I'm sure he had nothing to do with any smoke screen that was set up to make it appear that we were his choice. For the third time, I say forget it and move on.
OTOH, I have no use for Calishadi at all. He's cheated everywhere he has coached, and I'm sure that's true at Kentucky as well. I fully expect that this year's championship will be vacated. I hope his team flames out next year, and if that affects NN, so be it.

Monroe with 25 points, 11 boards, and 4 assists tonight...This will be my last comment in this thread so I'm gonna end it by saying I hate Calipari SOO MUCH and hope this all comes crashing down for him I take back what I said about Nerlens I'm just really dissapointed/frustrated.

I think the Trappist monk and writer, Thomas Merton, sums up this thread pretty well in his New Seeds of Comtemplation: To hope is to risk frustration. Therefore, make up your mind to risk frustration.

Money talks!
Nerlens Noel Tilton School (Tilton, N.H.), C Signed to: Kentucky The school that came in second for me was … “Georgetown. My mom really liked them a lot. She was sold on them. She loved how family-oriented they were and, like I said in my blog, my mom’s opinion was what mattered most to me. We had to sit down and talk and I had to really get her to take a longer look at Kentucky. Then when she did she started to like them a lot, too. But it was pretty close, man. It was pretty close.”

I would have jumped off a bridge if it was Syracuse. As I said before, I can live with being second to UK. He's a one-and-done and wants to win a championship. UK was just the natural fit.

I think the national championship sealed it for him. If they had just made a sweet 16/Elite 8 run and/or we would have gone either Sweet 16 or Elite 8, he would have been a Hoya. Man, that hurts.

Wow. So Kyle Anderson would have gone to Seton Hall? A bit surprising.
