6'4" guard out of Arkansas...from Jerry Meyer this weekend:
"Madden continues to make positive strides as a point guard. At 6-foot-4 and with a sweet shooting stroke, Madden is an awfully attractive prospect as a point guard.
A host of schools have offered with Georgia Tech and Georgetown being the latest. Madden plans to attend Florida's elite camp. The idea of attending elite camps at Georgia Tech and Georgetown is also appealing to Madden."

ESPN Review of Madden from this weekend:
"Ky Madden (Lepanto, Ark./East Poinsett County) utilizes his long frame well, which helps him score in bunches during short stretches. He showed the ability to run his Arkansas Wings team at the point guard position, which is something he has been working to develop, but he also showed the ability to knock down mid-range jumpers and shots behind the arc. Defensively, Madden will need to continue to get stronger in order to keep his man from getting into the lane. His length is great for disrupting the passing lanes, but by adding strength to his long frame, Madden will become a much better defender. Currently, Madden's offer list includes Arkansas, Villanova, Memphis, Ole Miss and Baylor, among others."

From Rivals:
"Madden said Monday if he had to name a top five at this point, it would consist of Ole Miss, Arkansas, Florida, Georgetown and Oklahoma State"
Competing with Florida as finalists for Thompson, Madden, and Christmas.

love the fact all these kids from the south see hoyas as a viable option. nice start getting some verbals!!
btw seeing more kids talking about an elite camp. didn't think there was much of an appetite for one, or are our rivals just spreading a bunch of malarkey to hamper our recruiting?

I live here in central Arkansas and would say there is a 5% chance this kid becomes a Hoya. Would never say never but the SEC schools have the inside track on him. He can flat out play don't get me wrong and he is a GREAT kid besides but don't think he'll ever see a Hoya uniform.

From ESPN article in Orlando:
"Aaron Ross' running mate with the Arkansas Wings is 6-5 point guard Kyle Madden. The rising junior guard did a little bit of everything in a win over Martin Brothers. Following the game he said he had already received scholarship offers from Arkansas, Ole Miss, Baylor, Florida, Alabama, Memphis, Marquette, Georgia, Georgetown, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State."

Hopefully he keeps his word and visits. The fact Georgetown is not one of his four scheduled official visits would seem to not bode very well.

I saw somewhere that he wants assurances that he'll play the 1 but a lot of teams want him to play the 2. I doubt JT3 will give him that, especially with Markel in the fold. Not sure he'd give that assurance anyway.

I'm sure he won't get that assurance but Coach probably is telling him that both guards in our offense handle the ball quite a bit.

He won't stray that far from home...trust me. He loves his family and will end up at an SEC school most likely or Memphis.

If I were UConn--this is NOT the guy to get involved with as you have NCAA probation on the way.
