Matta usually gets who he wants. If Sammy is Matta's #1 SF target, it will be very difficult for us to get him. But, we thought Duke and LSU would be difficult to beat out for Greg.

well i doubt he's Matta's #1 SF target since he already signed a SF that's higher ranked.

Does he want 2 SFs, thinking that one of them projects to a SG in college?

Since I'm privy to matta's inner thinking I could tell you. But I choose not to.

Well then you shouldn't conclude that Sammy is not his #1 SF target.

Except he's coming to visit this weekend, per Ron at HoyaReport and Eric Bossi at Rivals. "A versatile and athletic 6-foot-6 wing from Chicago (Ill.) Whitney Young, Thompson will take additional visits to Oregon State, Georgetown and Florida. According to Thompson, he'll head to Georgetown to check out the Hoyas this weekend. After that he'll check out Oregon State on the first weekend in October and will trip to Gainesville to check in with the Gators on the weekend of October 9th." Weird. Didn't feel great about him but the 2 reports just don't jive.

That's Bossi's tweet. he went back and checked. things changed over the last day. Does that mean he's visiting or he isn't? This is uber-confusing.

Matta almost always signs his targets. The guy is a phenomenal recruiter. Too bad.

Hoyas never offered Thompson: ilprepbullseye.com/page53.htmlLet's hope Trawick ends up the better player. Hard to understand a decision to offer Trawick but not Thompson, at least based on what all the recruiting gurus and the rest of the high major college basketball coaches apparently saw.
