Do you know who is recruiting him? Hunter may have connections down in NC from his days at NCSU, and Cox supposedly has the DCA connections.

Scout article has Hoyas as one of his top 3, with Missouri leading:
"Right now I like Maryland, Georgetown, and Missouri, but I'd probably say Missouri is my leader," he said. "I've been talking to coach Watkins from Missouri, and I like their style of play. I think it fits my game.

Seagers has impressed Jerry Meyer this weekend at TOC:
"Jerome Seagears (2011 DC Assault)- Seagears spent most of the time running the point for DC Assault, and he was impressive. Powerfully built, Seagears got where he wanted to get on the court and found open teammates in the process. He also looked comfortable shooting the ball from behind the arc.
Presently a ranked three-star prospect, Seagears might be due a bump in the rankings."

Evan Daniels from Scout this weekend:
"Going up against Chasson Randle, Seagers, a 6-foot floor general, more than held his own. In fact in this one we thought he played like the best guard on the floor. Seagers used his speed to get by defenders and once he was in the lane he either finished at the rim or created for teammates. He was great in pick and roll situations and also showed a nice mid-range pull-up that he managed to knock down a pair of times on Friday."
In the same article, Seagers listed "listed Seton Hall, Rutgers, Connecticut, Cincinnati, Arizona, Georgetown, Mississippi, Florida and Kansas State as schools that are recruiting him."

From Jerry Meyer at first dat of Adidas Invitational:
"In the absence of Quinn Cook, four-star point guard Jerome Seagears did an excellent job running the show for the DC Assault."

Seagers is having a great showing at the adidas event this week. From Scout's Evan Daniels:
"Jerome Seagers, PG, DC Assault – Over the course of the past few months, Seagers has appeared better and better. Up against a solid Brookwood Elite squad on Wednesday, the 6-foot lead guard controlled the tempo of the game and led his squad. He likes coming off screens and is a crafty handler and passer. Seagers also showed good speed and shot the ball quite well here."

From Rivals' Brian Snow at adidas:
"Brookwood Elite isn't a name that probably many players on the D.C. Assault roster were afraid of coming into their game, but the Canadian team showed very early on that it was going to be a battle. Assault didn't come out super focused, and Brookwood began to seize a little bit of control. Still the play of Jerome Seagears proved to be the difference.
A jet quick point guard, Seagears can get overshadowed at times during the summer by his running mate Quinn Cook, but with Cook representing the USA in Germany, it is Seagers chance to run the show and he is making the most of it.
Seagears is a 6-foot-1 and loves to push the ball with pace, but he is more than just fast, he knows how to play. Against Brookwood, Seagears made solid decisions with the basketball, got his teammates involved, and also ran the show. More than anything though he flat out had it working from the field.
Scoring is something that comes naturally for Seagers and it is because he can do it in so many ways. Seagears is excellent in using ball screens, especially going to his right, and when he does get the screen he is threat to either get a paint touch off the drive or shoot it from deep. Either way it often resulted in a bucket. Also Seagears used the step back jumper as a weapon, and it was his performance that got D.C. Assault the victory...
Jerome Seagears says he has offers from Cincinnati, Rutgers, DePaul, Clemson, Maryland, and Boston College with interest from Arizona and Georgetown."

Is he a point or more of a 2? Would he be considered along with Daniels and Randle, or would he be a player in addition to either of those two?

I can't see more than 1 guard for this class.

ESPN's review from Adidas:
"Jerome Seagears (Silver Spring, Md./Flora MacDonald) is a point guard who got the chance to shine in Quinn Cook's (Hyattsville, Md./Oak Hill) absence. Seagears has always been a handful in the open court, but he made solid decisions and was consistent from behind the 3-point line. In a class that is not deep with elite point guards, he could become a valuable commodity for a high-major program."

So he plays for DC Assault. Doesn't that pretty much guarantee he goes somewhere else?

From Scout article today:
'""Definitely West Virginia, Rutgers, DePaul, Cincinnati, and Arizona are up there," he said. "Those would be the top five right now. They've all offered me. I wouldn't say I have a favorite. I'm still neutral."'

Kid's not good enough to take minutes from anyone on the current team who will be returning for '12 season. He isn't a good shooter, doesn't finish strong--and is decent defender but small. 5'10-5'11 and not a dynamic offensive player--he can go elsewhere. Common theme--it's a down year for DC Assault--they weren't a very good team this year at all--lacked playmaking, shooting, and size-but they compete hard/battled enough and they usually beat the teams they should-which is credit to them playing hard--minus Goodman who floats in/out of games--rest of team plays consistently hard.

Once Ty committed to Nova, I began to question whether GU needed another PG; at the least a smallish combo. I don't really think the Hoyas need another 1, but a SG to replace AF...maybe. If Hoyas slide Hollis up and Bowen, JC, Vee and Markel all man the 1-2 spots then the more pressing need would be a legit SF, i.e., Dawson, Hood, Thompson. More vital to me is the 4/5 slots with alot of unproven, underacheiving players there. I'd stock up on frontcourt talent for the next two classes and sprinkle a guard, Brown, Madden, etc. in between. The Rak, JOB, Ochefu, Ashley, Slo Mo, Iverson, etc. seem to be more of the targets and rightfully so, imo.

I would be ecstatic!

I'd take 2 wings if you can get them-more athleticism/versatility. Fits any style you want to play offensively and allows you to throw defense at opposing teams. Hood is a playmaker as is Thompson in offense and Dawson is like a Sam Young type--who is more PF/SF in a 6'6/6'7 package.
Best guard in country is BJ Young--he's going to be a start and I like him more then Austin Rivers--he plays on worse team--but lifts them up and he scores at will without freezing out teammates.
Ky Madden finished summer strong--helped Wings win 3 tournaments in a row and is tough defender/competitor.
Good small guards next year---and Hoyas are stacked in returning guards--get BEST PLAYERS AVAILABLE and dont' recruit for "position"--get talent and figure it out later.

I need two bigs.
We're limited this year by lack of bigs. We've been limited the last few years. We should carry 5 bigs out of 13 scholarships. They don't all have to be ready to contribute, but that's where we should be.
