This kid exploded onto the national scene this past weekend at an AAU tournament in Indiana. Not sure if he would be a target for the Hoyas, but looks like he might end up a top 100 recruit and Syracuse just offered... www.chicagohoops.com/articles1/anthonydavis1.html

So is he interested in Georgetown or vice versa? If not--let's try to keep this down to kids who Hoyas are involved with so we don't get cluttered with non recruits taking up space.
Don't mean anything personal HoyaBoya--just have clicked on 3 threads with non recruits at top of page and think we want to keep this reserved for kids mentioning Hoyas/being recruited at some stage.
Sounds like a good prospect and all but just think we should keep focus on who we know is being mentioned for now.

Instead of creating a new thread for each good player out there not listing (or not recruited by) GU, maybe a "Class of 2011 Top 100" would be best.

Excellent student from a solid family...perfect type of recruit for JT III. Could be an excellent fit in the Hoyas system. Nice thing is it's not like the Hoyas are playing catch-up as nobody was on this kid 3 weeks ago.

So he won't end up at Cuse, then, right?

Official offers now from Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin in addition to Syracuse. Now getting strong looks from Kentucky, Arizona, Ohio State and Memphis in addition to Georgetown, according to local Chicago blogger... www.chicagohoops.com/articles1/brianstinnette514.html

Love to see Hoyas deep in the Chi. This is an approach we as fans have been begging for since III's tenure; a widened recruiting net. Not only does it help with current prospects, but it lays the foundation for the future.

Thanks RDF. I will admit that I have no connections to the coaching staff, but when I saw this kid emerge and heard more about him, just thought he'd be a perfect fit for the program. His goals/background and what Georgetown's got to offer are well-aligned. Plus, when I saw Syracuse jump in and offer, figured it wouldn't hurt to make people aware of the kid in case he ended up with a competitor.
The class of 2011 in Illinois is very deep and I'm excited to see the Hoyas in the mix with Davis, Henry and Thompson. I don't know as much about Henry's background, but Davis and Thompson are nice fits with the program culturally. Another kid that would be interesting to consider is Chasson Randle from Rock Island. He's the top student in his high school class and academics are extremely important to him. He's still very open despite the fact that Illinois, Wisconsin and Purdue have had offers out to him forever. Word is that he's looking for a national program with top academics, similar in that respect to Anthony Davis.

ZagsBlog has his top 3 listed today as Ohio State, Kentucky and Syracuse. Apparently, Davis hopes to have a decision by mid-July.
On the Sam Thompson front, we don't want Davis to pick Ohio State, because there's talk those 2 could be a package deal. Kentucky would be interesting just because him choosing the Wildcats might make Quincy Miller less likely to go there. Obviously, it would suck to have him choose Syracuse, however.

yourseason.suntimes.com/2566462,080410-anthony-davis-kentucky.article Reports out of the Chi that Davis is heading to Kentucky (for a cool 200K). Nothing surprising here if true.
