A friend of mine was eating at The Diner in Adams Morgan and JTIII/Burke and 2 recruits came in to eat---my friend got a picture with JTIII and said he was incredible nice---he couldn't tell me much about the recruts except that they were tall.

JTIII seems to be out and about an incredible amount. I am very impressed at his hands on approach to recruiting and it appears that, by going to Adams Morgan, the Tombs, etc. He is doing his best to use D.C. itself as a recruiting tool. That said, if anyone spots him with a seven footer in one of the Tidal Basin paddleboats, he will have gone too far!

Keep up the good work JT III! I wonder who the recruits were.

Of all the restaurants in town they go to the Diner in Adams Morgan? Yeesh. I didn't think anybody ate at that place except in a delirious drunken stupor at 4am.

Hey! I get the occasional lunchtime burger there! I think it is pretty good.

Come to think of it I've never been in there sober in my life. Perhaps I'm not the greatest judge.

The place is also a huge sunday brunch place -- you have to wait for an hour sometimes to get a table. Odd, as it probably still smells like Saturday late night on Sunday morning . . . .

Does eating there at 5am Sunday to cap off a night on the town qualify as "Sunday Brunch"?
I do remember the place was insane during the 2002 World Cup. That was cool.

It is funny as crap to go there on a saturday night at 3:00 A.M. and then walk by early Sunday afternoon -- different crowd -- a lot more baby strollers on Sunday afternoon.

---he couldn't tell me much about the recruts except that they were tall. What the hell is that?? That is not acceptable around here at alt.hoyas.obsessive! At the very least, you friend could tell us if they looked as though they had qualified or not! I mean, all that takes is a passing glance. ;D (j.k. thanks for the sighting/info)
