Edging a crappy Florida team at home.
Ouch! That was unnecessary. Seriously though, I think that Pearl has done a pretty good job with them this year, and I HATE Tennessee. Calipari brought in all that talent and Kevin Stallings also did a great job with Vandy this year. Billy D. did perhaps his best coaching job in his tenure here at Florida. Without going into details, unexpected departures and injuries really hampered the Gators. But Billy put out a team that didn't lose a game by more than 12 all year and was "in" all but one game with 4 minutes to go. Not many teams can say that. So with that tough of a division, and then dealing with that gun/drug issue right when the season started really getting going, I have to give Pearl credit. Again, I don't like him, but he's done a good job. Are they a "6?" Debatable. Their performance away from home is certainly a valid criticism. But don't think of that spanking that Kentucky gave them in the SEC tourney as a neutral site. KY fans account for 3/4ths of the fans every single stinking year.
I think in a sense, the 6 is justified due to the lack of wins away from home. However, you could argue that the quality of their good wins warrant a higher seeding. In any case, I know that I want their season ended this weekend -- one way or another.

there has always been favoritism towards Duke when it comes to the selection process. since the 90's.
always.
its never going to stop.
as far as a bias against us?
nah.
in this day and age, everybody can beat everybody. and who cares who knows our system. we went to the Big East tournament championship against teams that know our system better than Tenn or Ohio St. so thats a bogus argument.
you don't cry about the cards you dealt. you play what is in front of you. we did alright this year with the so-called toughest schedule in the country. then that should prepare us for teams we will face in the tournament.

In order to make Indy, We need to win one game, four times in a row. We may or may not have to beat Ohio St. and Kansas. However, I firmly believe the coaching staff understands that right now, if we don't beat Ohio, no other team in the region matters.
40 minutes at a time. One possession at a time. If Gergetown plays its best basketball, i'll take my chances with any opponent.

the_way i agree with you about PUKE, they are like the Notre Dame of Football. The fans are very arrogant win when they are winning but act like punks when they loose and find all types of insane excuses for it. They have the fan base but also another fan base who enjoys watching them get PUNKED in basketball. You would be surprised at the number of places i worked and every time we have an office pool every says GLAD TO SEE DUKE LOOSE

well Obama picked us to flame out in the elite eight.. That's flaming out? It's a round later than our seed and no one is not picking KU for the Final Four.

well Obama picked us to flame out in the elite eight.. That must be the Fox News headline. CNN reports that Obama has Hoyas overachieving their seed, beatign the favored #2 seed and reaching the regional final.

These NCAA seeding committees are very suspect. For example, in the NCAA women's soccer seedings, the University of Portland was ranked 2nd or 3rd in the country after the regular season this year. Guess what seed they got in the tournament - #2 in the west, with UCLA #1. They ended up playing AT UCLA in the elite eight and lost a close game. This lack of respect for their team has gone back the past four or five years. UP surprised the committee by winning it all a couple of years ago, in spite of low seedings. This could be a model for the Hoyas. Heck with the committee and win every game. GO HOYAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That settle's that!

I know people who bought cars and paid for entire semesters of college by betting on Duke in NCAA games and no one who saw the Davidson heist and phantom foul game versus Monroe, can doubt that the NCAA has it out for Georgetown.
This year's seedings just confirm things. But I love the way this is going to give our guys a mission from God toughness that will prevent anything from keeping us winning the whole thing.

Yes, I hate how the NCAA permitted Ohio's two lead guards to make 10 out of 18 3's tonight.
