The guy in the beret was former GU band director Ron Lignelli. Ron has been at many Big East games, is a good guy and a great Hoya fans. Currently serves in the performing arts department. Great, great guy and great Hoya fan! performingarts.georgetown.edu/about/AdministrativeStaff/

Liz writes, "Monroe led the team with seven assists -- hardly the norm for a 6-foot-11 center." While his average is 3.6 assists per game, I count 10 games this season where he had five or more assists including the one where he dropped 12 dimes on Providence. He is considered one of the best passers in the Big East. Hmmm.

In Liz's defense, the line is "hardly the norm for a 6-foot-11 center" not "hardly the norm for this 6-foot-11 center."

A play of the game I thought that happened was JTIII getting heated on the sideline in the 1st half during the timeout. I think its more effective for a time like this to get emotional than if he was like this all year long. I'll never question his motives again!

I must say it is refreshing to walk the streets of New York this morning and see so many Orange-clad people trudging along with suitcases behind them.

Appears the Hoya Suxa site, hoyasuxa.wordpress.com/, finally saw the light. Or someone found the light for them . Enjoy it while it's up... I think the blog owner didn't want to have to comment on the game, instead devising a story that the site was taken over by a spoiled Hoya fan so that he could write about that tomorrow when he "regains" control of his site. Pathetic.

Onuaku had his MRI today. Day to day with a "quad injury". It's not too specific, but he is expected to practice.

Just rewatched the game... A couple of thoughts that don't duplicate other points -
1. Recall SU's run in MSG earlier in the season. I think they settled in better than we did earlier in the game. Maybe familiarity fave them a slight advantage out of the game.
2. I can't remember a GU guard being as STRONG with the ball as Chris was during the game. He went up with authority each time he had a layup, and that's why his conversion rate was much better than it normally is. We need that from this point forward.
3. If you compare Hollis's regular games against SU to yesterday, and there is no comparison. Having him in there to match some of SU's athleticism was critical.
4. We scored 31 points in the last 10 minutes of the game. Glad to see the offense didn't hold us back.
