Oh, hogwash. Chris Matthews interrupts every single person he interviews -- at least every single person who doesn't share his ideology -- twice as much as Obama got interrupted in that interview. So do most TV hosts.
George Bush constantly got interrupted like that by almost everyone except Sean Hannity.
You HAVE to interrupt politicians. Otherwise they'll continue blathering on and on about something that had nothing to do with the question. Or putting up their ginormous strawmen, which is a specialty of our current President.
And, yes, process is important. By my timeline as I was watching online, this interview was pretty evenly divided. First half process, second half content. A little more on process, but the President was given plenty of opportunity to talk and respond about content.

I never thought I'd see Chris Matthews identified as a commendable journalist on this site given prior attacks on him. It should be noted that President Bush was never interviewed by Chris Matthews or Keith Olbermann,
I'd have no problem with interruptions, but many of the interruptions in the interview were just to insert a talking point from the RNC and were not quick-hitter questions. Maybe I have trouble taking a journalist seriously when he cites the so-called "Slaughter Rule" - a carefully crafted term designed to capitalize on someone's last name.

"Deem & Pass" really doesn't sound a whole lot better.
I look around for Buffy or Faith to run into the room whenever I hear that term.
EDIT: Not to mention Carly Fiorina's sheep!

I would vote a Buffy-Faith ticket. Even if the VP would inevitably try to kill the President and take her place.

I would vote a Buffy-Faith ticket. Even if the VP would inevitably try to kill the President and take her place. It worked for the Roman Republic/Empire for hundreds and hundreds of years. Nothing wrong with a little regicide now and then. And now I've just been flagged by the NSA and my screen name sent to the USSS. Dammit! Just kidding National Security Agency! Just kidding!

I just watched the Baier session with President Obama. I think it was the entire session shown via two links on Drudge. I don't think the president answered any specific question. Rather repeatedly he retreated into a discussion of the big picture of health care without responding to the question. He did not respond as to whether he supported deem and pass, did not seem to know any of the specifics of most of the "payoffs" in the bill, and, in general tended to filibuster rather than answer any questions. Had I been the moderator I would have interrupted him even more. If you added up the air time between Baier and the president, the president would have consumed about 90%.
