Love how we look both in the halfcourt and in transition. Bench players are having their best half of the year.

Sims, Vee, Benimon and Hollis! Wow!
Great run for the young guys.
........and we need to run as much as possible because we are great at it!

Nice 33 point lead, why does that number sound familiar? I love that we really have a decent 7 man rotation with Hollis and Benimon. With the way Henry and Vee are playing, we could possible work in a couple more guys down the road and have a solid 8 and possibly 9 man rotation. I'd be thrilled with 8 though.
Anyway, this has really been about a perfect game.

88 points matches the most in a regulation Big East game by a John Thompson III-coached team.
Had 88 in a win over Syracuse and 94 in an OT loss to SU last year.

Vee really showed me something today, he's really fast!
Great experience game for the young players and they will only get better.

Great, great game all around. The part I liked best was seeing the guys getting pumped up for Henry. Maybe Hoyatalk can take it's cue from them with regard to Sims. Terrific game all around.
I found it funny too that throughout every game we've played, commentators have been harping on our lack of depth (sounds familiar). Today they were talking about how going 7 deep is such a good thing and it's difficult to use anyone off of the bench because our starters are so solid. That being said, really nice bench minutes I thought. I was sure we were going to see more bench earlier but you can't really argue with getting Hollis and Benimon as much time as possible with the starters since they are currently the first options off of the bench and certainly look more comfortable with each game. Psyched too that Hollis' shot was dropping today. Nice 3's, good passing and that one really nice reverse lay-in.
Phenomenal job by the guys. HOYA SAXA!

Just 2nd game I have seen. The Hoyas looked very good; great ball motion. Nice to see Henry get some minutes and pts. He seemed to get more relaxed. Too bad he didn't hit that lob. Vaughn really reminds me of Michael Graham.

Also, loved that Hollis broke out of his shooting slum. Espn credited Nikita with one TO.

For those interested, there is a replay of today's game tonight at 8 for anyone with SNY. Also, ESPN Classic is showing 2 Georgetown/Cuse games (2 PM and 5 PM) in our lead-up to the game on Monday and a third one on Tuesday at 9 PM. The games are from 2/10/81, 1/21/91 and 1/10/83, respectively.

I liked the dribble drive and floater that Hollis had even though it didn't go in. He need's to be more assertive with the ball, not just spotting up for 3's.

Love that Coach was "frustrated" with the little "lull" at the end.

Love that Coach was "frustrated" with the little "lull" at the end. I caught that too. Always Coaching, always raising expectations. We have a GREAT coach. just look at how well the guys played TEAM ball today. Rutgers had more talent than I had realized, but we blew them out of the building because our guys play as a TEAM -- OK, a TEAM with a helluva lot of talent!

That was Greg's 8th double-double of the year. The only player this century that has had more in a season is Mike Sweetney, who had 15 double-doubles his sophomore year and 16 double-doubles his junior year.
Honestly, I don't think Greg gets enough love for his rebounding. He is beasting on the boards this year

Honestly, I don't think Greg gets enough love for his rebounding. He is beasting on the boards this year I agree. Greg's been treated like such a science experiment as the #1 recruit, it's easy for people to miss things like the fact that he is a great rebounder. With an actual PF across the lane from him this year, he's just gotten better. It's not like he's just grabbing the boards nobody else can get like last year. He's getting after it.

The best part about the game is that its a reminder that we get to play these guys again next month (also, coincidentally, before the other Syracuse game).
