If I'm reading his quote correctly he was saying he liked the Princeton-style offense we used last year but didn't like the fact that coach changed it this year. In other words he doesn't like the fact that coach speeded things up this year?
"Mescheriakov, who moved from Belarus 3½ years ago to attend St. John's Prospect Hall High in suburban Washington D.C., said he left Georgetown partly because the Hoyas changed their offense this season from a Princeton-style attack to one less reliant on spreading the floor and looking for backdoor cuts to the basket.
"Georgetown just didn't work out for me," Mescheriakov said. "I didn't like the system over there."

The bottom line is he could not compete for top minutes on our team and he was passed by Hollis and Vaughn, plus we were going to play 3 guards in Clark, Wright and Freeman. If he would have made his threes and played some defense, he would still be getting good minutes. Look at Duke playing 5 frontcourt McDs AAs in Singler, Thomas, 2 Plumlees and Zoubek (not sure if all were AAs, but think so). If you can compete, you get minutes.
I think the softer ACC will be more suited for him.

Why are we giving this bum any airtime.
Dude was straight garbage. He should be happy he was on scholarship.
Talking about, "I didn't like the system over there,"
Don't diss the program that gave you a chance, dude. You were and are a marginal Division I basketball player at best. I don't think he could play in the CAA

Why are we giving this bum any airtime. While I don't feel the need to call him a bum, I'm sure he worked hard while he was here, I am 150% in favor of the rest of daytona's comment. If this thread goes to 6 pages, I am going to get a list of addresses and start whaling on some posters here, Jay & Silent Bob style.

I'm sure he worked hard while he was here Yeah, a lot of people have said this. Why are we so sure? Maybe he half-assed it the whole time. Maybe he worked hard. Either way, I don't think he deserves the benefit of the doubt anymore.

I typically have no problem with anyone assessing our system, yet he's full of it when he says he wasn't happy with the change in system. He wasn't getting minutes and left because of it.
His leaving make more sense than Jeremy Rivers, who was giving up a G-town education and diploma for some extra PT at NC State. G-town can give you an edge in many employment situations, and NC State cannot. The guys who move to lesser schools when they have no shot at the NBA don't make sense to me ever - unless if they just did not like being at G-town overall. But getting some extra minutes for 2 years versus having G-town on your resume etc. for life seems like a bad move.
I admired his effort and that he was one of the only who regularly boxed out, yet his overall talent and skill is not that of a BE starter (at least not the top half of the BE - maybe the cellar).

It hurt him to spend the summer in Belarus instead of playing pickup and Kenner and working out on campus. He did not get better at his weaknesses and more importantly he did not develop any chemistry or comradery with his teammates. The offense didn't really change from last year to this year. The players got better at it and learned to play together better. His pt problem was that Hollis is a better option the role he played last year, and Clark and Freeman play big enough to go with three guards against most teams. There was no role for him. But no one should angry toward him. Nikita was not the reason last year's team failed and he did not hurt the team this year either.

I love this program. I have since I was five years old. That's 25 years of me being a diehard Hoya fan.
And I hate it when the guys that transfer take shots at us like Nikita did on the way out. We have a classy coach that's been nothing but nice to these clowns. Don't shoot your mouth off. Shut up and move the heck on!
Especially Nikita, who did nothing worthy of shooting his mouth off.
At least Jeremiah had talent.

I actually think he can be a solid rotation player in the ACC especially Wake who have some decent bigs...I think this was a good move for him.
