finally got some actual discussion on how georgetown looked on the VT board:
"Wright didnt play well. Scored some points but turned it over too much and struggled some.. Personally, I thought their freshman point guard from Kentucky (Vee Sanford) out played Wright..I liked Sanford, that was a nice pickup and they got him late last year....Freeman was just so-so...had some good looks but didnt convert them...Jason Clark was good for them, led them in scoring and was the best player out therte for them in my opinion....Monroe, Vaughn and Sims were all just fair...Not sure Georgetown's offense helps Bigs...You can only hold your post position very briefly, then you are required to move out to high post or wing for ball screens...None of the three reached double figures...Georgetown will probably end up being a good team this year in time...right now, they are not where they will end up being...They arent terribly physical either, in my opinion... " seriously though, is this stuff we didnt already know? flashes of brilliance with turnovers from wright in an unstructured environment, freeman getting to the hole but not converting, not feeding the post and not being physical. i think what we should take out of this is that our "other two" guards sanford and clark are looking great. chris and austin will have to get with the program if they dont want to get the sapp treatment. as i've said for the past 2 years - itd be great to see this team put some pressure on the ball on defense!!!! we now have 4 guards who can play as well as hollis and freeman that can play at the 3 and a big in monroe who led the team in steals last year.

" Let's see: 1. Sanford is a better PG than Wright 2. Freeman was so-so and Clark was the best player 3. All-american Greg Monroe was "fair" Who wrote this? Bizzaro Barker Davis? Somehow, I think none of the above will play out during the actual season, and not a structured scrimmage that no one here saw.

Coaches make it their business to make sure their team doesn't look too good in preseason scrims by stopping Mo and changing lineups and stopping the game to "instruct". I would take nothing from this - they are all going to be just fine. Nobody plays their best game every night anyhow. Go Hoyas
